A quiet week is a good week with all the stuff that has happened recently 🤞🏻

Hi can you share where you purchased the a and k diy powders. I would be interested in trying this. Thanks David

Times are testing Rob for sure. Dare I say it but do you need a back up to a back up, say a generator 🤷♂️

I love your updates Rob. such a shit show you had to go through last week and you are right, lucky it blew up in your face and not while you were away on another holiday. glad you are okay and the tank is still in one piece!

To give you some idea my 1000l tank was totally without power apart from a couple of hours for nearly 40 hours. My generator lasted about an hour before it packed up . Temp dropped to 21.2c with no flow at all and everything seems fine. Tank is fairly lightly stocked. I thought I was going to loose everything. Very stressful time. Bought a new generator as soon as I could
@pelagicswimmer6 күн бұрын
@Andy.H1 That sounds good, much longer than I'd expect. I bet the stress levels were high enough to not ever want to go through it again!

My toadstools keep spawning. They retract all their tentacles, and then the little floating looking seedlings/toadstools shoot out of the top and they float around like little jelly fish till landing everywhere. Last time, i scooped a bunch of them up and put them into a refugium

Thanks Paul, yes was great to get an early result, really looking forward to this time next year. I've had a few people say they might try it which is exactly what I wanted. I hope I'm answering those basic questions about tank size, kit and colony size etc.

Another good honest video Rob, did you manage to find out which light wasn't on?
@pelagicswimmer20 күн бұрын
I did when I went out for the spawning stuff, saw the light on, rebooted seems fine
@fishpalace20 күн бұрын
That is bad luck. I found with the vortech wet sides that when I remove them clean them in Citrix acid to remove all traces of salt and they are ok. I think the salt left on the wet side corrodes the components as it happened to me a while back. I also now clean all pumps/moving parts if I am not going to use for a while
@pelagicswimmer20 күн бұрын
Yes, I get the feeling I chucked it in the cupboard thinking I'd swap it out the following week then totally forgot.

Hi Rob, amazing video. Barry @ AAC just recommended it to me as he knows I'm a keen driver as well. Amazing diversity of life, up there with some of the best dive sites I've visited in the Maldives. I assume the video is a collection of multiple dives in the same region? Would be good to know some of the dive site names if you recall, I think I might add this to my holiday list. Cheers Chris

@ctpurley1 Hi Chris glad you enjoyed it, I was in maldives earlier in the year, was sad to see so much bleaching there. I'll look up some of the dive sites and msg you.

Thanks Rob, the southern Atolls have always been good for me. Although dived Mauritius at the beginning of the year, that was very sad. 80-90% bleaching 😢

Nice update Rob. I love pipefish and have had 1 for about 4 years. I agree they can take more flow than I thought and I made sure it was feeding on mysis so I didn’t need to build up a pod population. You could always feed mysis into the return chamber for return pump to circulate into the display. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
