That's great! I am using octane for houdini as well. When I place a large number of instances, they are all visible in the viewport, but only about half are visible when rendered. Do you know the cause of this?

octane uses the standard instance node so it works the same as rendering instances with mantra

@@MichaelKirylo sure but theres also an octane scatter shader node which is used in conjunction with the scatter tab at the obj level and feels efficient. The only thing is that I cant make it work with its full potential as it does in Cinama4d
