What you do on the field is the ultimate measure. So CHF and staff have their work cut out for them. But CHF is one of the very best recruiters in the country to have brought in 2 top 10 classes in his 1st 2 years (with his W/L record)! History shows that national championships are won by programs that had top ten recruiting classes.

Started at #5 with realistic thoughts of #3 and outside shot at #1. Finishing 7th or 8th is not an historic haul. I do appreciate you guys' level headed critique of this class. Refreshing from the sunshine pumping of other sites. Good class which will impact the future with other good classes, but nothing game changing. The LB Melendez may be the biggest impact next year. Here's the next year criteria to stay as HC: 7 wins - top 3 class 8 wins - top 5 class 9 wins - top 10 class 10 wins - top 10 class more wins you're in the CFP so you're good

@WendyJones-zy8kq yep, like they mentioned the OT wasn't great but sometimes stepping up buys you that split second you need to find someone down feel or create a rush lane for the QB to make something positive.

As far as staff shake-up, Nix, Austin, and Thornton all need to go. No ifs, ands, or buts. Then, hire a true OC that can coach, game plan, and call plays. Relegate Freeze to recruiting only.

I’ve been telling folks Auburn would upset Duke at Cameron since the game got announced last year. I’m an Auburn Alum but was raised in Chapel Hill, NC. I think Auburn is considerably deeper and more experienced and I was always of the impression that this would be a big factor in this match up no matter the talent Duke has. Cameron seat capacity wise is the same size as Neville Arena, it’s just more compact but I think Auburn is well prepared for it. It may take a few minutes to settle in but I really don’t think it will. Auburn will likely beat this Duke team by 15+. Maluach and Flagg v Johni and Cardwell will be an interesting battle but I give the edge to Auburn given size, maturity, and strength. I also think Auburns depth is gonna give Duke fits. Though Duke has some studs on the bench, Scheyer hasn’t played them. This might be a game where Duke goes deeper into the bench and if so expect Isaiah Evans or Darren Harris to be an X factor because I think Auburn will easily handle the starting guards plus Kon Knueppel handily. I think Auburn wins on the glass plus 10 and on fast break points plus 8 possibly more. Also a UNC fan praying on the Devils downfall 🙏🏾.

Peyton’s stats were fine…. If you asked anyone what kind of season do thing Auburn had if PT throws for 2700 yds and 20 TDs to only 9 INTs “man probably a pretty decent year!” BUT it comes down to things stats don’t measure, decision making at critical times….

I think the “clutch factor” is definitely a thing that people have or don’t. Dude at Vandy has it and Peyton doesn’t. Doesn’t make him bad necessarily, just not able to be the guy to drive down the field when there’s two minutes left and you NEED a score

A lot of that I put on OC by committee… Peyton would make some real bonehead decisions at the worst possible times… throwing deep on 4th down when a 3-4 yd throw is wide open in the flat, throwing it away on 4th down, not seeing defenders playing close to the line and getting picked off, changing out of a good play into a terrible play, etc….

@@tylerbush5939 I think a lot of that comes down to guys that don’t have to think much and just have a feel for it allowing them to throw early with anticipation. Thorne thinks too much and it slows him down and makes him easy to read.
