Where do you think the plot for Dirty Harry came from; eh?

Super! Thanks! I still love movies from the seventies! I wish I could go back to these years for a while! And it's always a pleasure to see Jack Palance featuring! ✌️🤠💥🌟🌀👍

Going by the penalties - this game was actually November 13, 1976 which was a Saturday - which would explain why Jim Robson isn't doing the game on radio.

The coveted REDS. Sitting in the reds meant you were someone. 77 should still have been a sellout. The 9K crowds weren't until the late 80's

Riveting work by Mr. Palance and Pamela Shoop stands out too as his "bleeding heart" opposite. She guest starred on every tv series in the Eighties but never got that starring assignment her talent warranted.

Like Status Quo said: Down down deeper and down.... Sad to see such a great actor in such a crappy movie. But well, Robert Mitchum "starred" in Amsterdam Kill, and that was similarly rock bottom as this. The soundtrack is more or less OK, but that's about it.

Ugh, what boring hockey compared to the speed and skill of today’s game. However, there’s something to be said for the long shifts and flow that lines could get into. And the white boards, white ice, and subdued music.

I sure miss the days when the ice and boards were blank and not covered with distracting ads. Made the game WAY easier to follow. I bet today's hockey players and fans would prefer it that way too.

Gee, no ads on the boards, no electronic ads on the ice or boards. No clutter on the screen, etc. sometimes simpler is in fact better!

@10:15 Typical right-wing attitude. Complain about being held accountable for violating the defendant's most basic rights and mock the judge and justice systems for enforcing the law the LEO´s are paid to uphold; instead of assuming responsibility for violating those basic rights that anyone with a modicum of intelligence is aware of. Republicans are Always the Victim.

I thought they were setting up a story where the rule breaking cop learns that he can get his man through fair means in the end and learn a lesson.. OR that they were doing Dirty Harry where he's justified in getting the guy and is morally right by taking out the bad guy at the end of the movie to stop the killing spree. Half way through this movie he literally murders the guy in cold blood going from protagonist to bad guy!!! Really weird choice from the writers.. you either build it up and show him declining throughout the movie, committing the murder and then his nightmare of trying to cover it up before he gets caught by his own justice system OR you do a Dirty Harry movie where he stays the good guy and corners the killer in a hostage situation at the end and takes him out proving that sometimes only violence stops violence etc.. This story is a confused mess. The mob sub plot doesn't work at all and he ends up getting killed by a girl who is only introduced an hour into it and is hardly in the movie. Wouldn't it have been better if he's essentially a good guy.. he kills the guy by accident trying to arrest him, loses it with all the stress of covering it up.. the net is closing in on him and he then ends up having to take his own hostage at the end of the movie with his girlfriend and partner having to make the choice to take him out.. the girlfriend then learns that sometimes you DO have to be tough and take out bad guys for the sake of protecting the public (which was kind of his point at the beginning of the movie)? Only HE ended up being the bad guy through a twist of fate and making bad choices afterwards!! The movie then becomes an ironic tragedy where one accident (or something taken too far) changes a man's life and causes his downfall, turning him bad and his own hardline philosophy is ironically proven right by the nature of his own death. That's better right? They could have given him a big speech at the end during a dramatic standoff and his girlfriend or partner would have had to make the difficult choice to take him down. That's drama folks!!! There's at least three better ways this movie could have been written.

I passed by this upload...Why? Because later in his career... Jack, did some for the money... I thought, maybe, this too. I was wrong! His performance, natural Not over done, not farcical... The film has something to say. It has that everyday feel Good dialogue. One can see one's self Living a life...Alongside. Succinctly... If you want to relax. Later, feel satisfied. Stimulate, relatively. This will do the job.
