I'm curious if your team is currently modeling BLDC for new motors like NEO and Falcon.
@AustinSchuh Жыл бұрын
Our experience so far is that the BLDC motors (I only have detailed experience with the Falcons) behave very similar to brushed motors, just with different Kt, Kv, and resistances. You can see this from the shape of the torque vs RPM and current vs RPM plots posted by the manufacturers.

Hey I was remembering at SFR that I noticed that you guys had a super cool way of attaching your bumpers to your robot frame. What kind of hardware did you use to do it?

@@smanrobotics Thank you so much for the really fast and helpful response! I love the bumper design with the swept/raised front and back too.
@JG-oc9gc Жыл бұрын
@@smanrobotics Sorry to bother you again, I have another question about the last photo that shows the construction technique. I assume that the metal piece that is being installed on the bumper goes through the bumper wood and that is what the nut in the first photo is attaching to? That metal piece looks custom made but I am wondering how the whole mounting system was made. Did you take a threaded rod and attach it to that piece being installed on the bumpers in the last photo? Sorry if this is a bit much to ask.
@smanrobotics Жыл бұрын
JG, sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for your interest in the 971 bumper attachment design. For many years, we tried something new every year, and then a few years ago we settled on the design you see now. The part on the bumper with the threaded rod is an off the shelf part. McMaster part # 97590A445 = www.mcmaster.com/catalog/129/3575/97590A445. Note: to tighten the nuts and ensure the bumper does not slide up during a match, we tighten the nuts with a ratcheting wrench.
