Very starnge that companies don't pay the patent holders a percentage of the earnings, say 0.1-1% of the profits derived from the patents.

I discovered that I could use Kevlar as an motor shaft pressure fittting insert for my drone motor that manufactuerers don't make bolting shafts for the motor. It works wonders. And I am so surprised just now that Kevlar was invented by a woman.

This is cool. Thanks. Gershom Bulkeley worked side by side with John Winthrop Jr. his fellow alchemist and the governor of Connecticut to stop the witch hangings there decades before the Salem trials began. Interesting history that I hope CT will do more to tell.

Langer promoted a scam company in a very "slick" video called Pixar Bio (that was supposed to develop a new polymer-related delivery system for opiates). Unfortunately, the CEO of Pixar Bio (Frank Reynolds) was ultimately sentenced to 7 years in prison for securities fraud (where he died in January 2022). I invested in this company mainly due to Langer's promotion. Now the courts have ordered all the investors to be reimbursed (which I doubt will ever happen). I think Langer should be on the hook for this---he promoted this "company" and took part in its promotion

This video is insane. Ambler is so nice. A really really really nice place. You are literally focusing on a tiny tiny handful of blocks. Trying to make it out like it is some disenfranchised neighborhood. West ambler has like 4 streets. And west and south ambler aren’t anymore the heart of ambler than any other section. Its a small old town that is one of the greatest in the US. That big pile of asbestos is wild though. My brothers grew up playing in it like it was sand. 😂

Mr. Grayson, I am puzzled by a video of Eric P. Dollard in which he shows that J.J. Thomson explains repelling electrical forces into attractive ones. A view that I share. The free video is on his website (history of energy synthesis (47th minute). There are multiple reasons for his (and mine) standpoint.

I would consider the U.S. Gov't and FEMA liable for any health consequences to the public for using these trailers. This is a the first time I have heard of this hazard with trailers that were provided by the gov't to house the displaced during the recovery from Katrina. It's hard to fathom the rationale .

I love that Anna Barbauld petitioned, and won, the freedom of many mice lives. Amazing anyone cared back then, considering what a nuisance they must’ve been. Also amazing that to this day many companies still test on animals. There still is not a better way, in some circumstances.

So, to be clear, if you were to describe Bergson's concept of a 'vital force' in a nutshell, what would it be, because I didn't r eally hear that described succinctly.
@Nahulanham Жыл бұрын
The major problem, as I see it with Bergson's theory (and I think he was correct on how he differentiated it as two opposing views of space and time) was that he didn't have Einstein's view of space and time, nor did he have quantum physics and Hugh Everett's either. Thus, the idea of order was believable, but not how it worked with the reality of time in Einstein's view and quantum physics. Plus, the snarky remark about poetry and philosophy is also part of the problem in contemporary so-called 'science' is that it fails to integrate these supposed wholes into complete units, hence, the fragmentation of our left-brained scientists in their narrow-minded perspectives.
@DonJay777 Жыл бұрын
How can you put the term "skeptics" in scare quotes while professing to be a serious scientist? No one doubts that the climate is changing. There is no "consensus among scientists" that fossil fuels need to be replaced by solar and wind to avoid extinction. That is a political platform. There is genuine consensus that temperatures have risen, and that co2 emissions have contributed, but that does not mean the world is going to end or that the benefits of fossil fuels are outweighed by the manageable risks they pose and need to be replaced.
