Back in 1956, a brand new color TV was only 21" or smaller. And, you could have one in your home for just $495.

Do you have the Seeburg Background Music Library 87-C record, that has the song "Many Dreams Ago"? --I believe this was featured in the 1954 film "Rear Window"

After watching your video over and over again, I decided to restore my 1967 Roberts 770X Reel to Reel recorder. You have restored yours beautifully, but I don't know where you ordered your parts for the Motor run capacitors. I did find the Terminal strip from Keystone but need to know where you ordered the rest of the parts. Thank you for your excellent video....

Beautiful car, back in '68, my mom had bought a red and white '60 Convertible one of these........then got in a "head on" collision w/ my baby sister in the car......the "X" frame.....so taunted as the greatest thing........that car just crumbled..... but both Mom, and little sis came out alright! Thank God/Jesus!

I have been working on my DX-160 for a bit and I had the same problems. I applied the your technique and the radio receive opened up. I have two problems remaining. they are string slipping and band selector is extremely hard to turn even after lubrication. Any thoughts?

My family had a Zenith living room TV which we got in early 1974 when we moved from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom apartment. It had a remote exactly like the one in this video, but the channel selection slots could each be tuned to any channel, as opposed to the remote turning a knob that had the channel numbers in order. We had a master antenna, and at one point they took all the UHF channels we could get and mapped them to VHF channel numbers. There were plastic inserts with the channel numbers that had a hole on one side or the other to select UHF or VHF tuning.

I have a Roberts 1650 (similar to Akai) that is running a tad slow. I read that the motor might need oil. I saw in the video you mention polyurethane foam but I'm not sure where it goes specifically on the motor as the current motor doesn't have one. Can you share a little more detail? Thanks.

Well that was a real treat, Thank you. My father was heavily involved with the design of this building, and as I recall recommended his friend Ragnar Benson to build it. In your final photos I saw many familiar faces, including Mr. Galvin, Walt Scott, and Warren Gieffers. My father is also pictured in the group shot at 57:09, seated in the first row, third from the left (with the bow tie). This is a photo I had never seen, so thank you again. Seeing the cracks in the back of the building brought back lots of memories of conversations over concerns of cracking in the front facade (near the big "M"), not long after it was built. It's sad the building was lost, but thanks to your video, it's history never will be.

My dad was a mechanic at Bergl Chevrolet from 1959 until they closed in 1984. It was not Bergl at that point, some time around 1982 it was Bill Haupt Chevrolet, then George Strat. The Cicero public library is what is there now.

Thanks to your excellent video, I'm going to tackle my 1968 Tandberg 64X reel-to-reel machine. It has served me many years, but didn't get much use once I switched to digital in 1985.
