Hi guys, thank you for the great videos. Very informative and really well presented on Relevant topics. I have a question. I am using a MT 1000 prism and need to establish a reference elevation. There is a benchmark on a nearby column. With MT 1000 mounted to my prism pole how do I determine my prism height? Do I measure From the base of the pole to the center of the LEDs or the prism mirrors? Is that determined by active or passive mode? There does not seem to be distinguishable marks to measure to Thank you very much in advance!
@buildingpointsupport29 күн бұрын
It is important to measure from the base of the pole to the center of the prism mirrors to accurately establish your prism height. The active or passing settings to not change the measurement point.
@NicolasKennedy-qf8cb17 күн бұрын
Hey brother, the measurement for your MT1000 is from the tip of the pole, to he center of youre MT1000.
@NicolasKennedy-qf8cb17 күн бұрын
KEEP MT1000 IN 'passive' mode when shooting for elevation.

At some point for future Field Link versions, it would be extremely convenient and quite the selling point to have spreadsheet functionality on screen and running in real time within Field Link. Maybe like 12 cells available with full spreadsheet trigonometric functions etc. and to be able to link any of the output fields currently displaying in field link to be used as inputs into the spreadsheet per users choice. This would cause Trimble to be able to get around proprietary functions of other total robotic station makes. And give the user custom, on the spot and in real time control of what they need. At that point, I would have to guess, Trimble would dominate the Total Robotic Station industry, if not already. And by the way, anybody own stock in Trimble? It’s probably going to go up.

The easy and quick way to check a Trimble Optical Plummet is with a plum bob. Simply mount it on a tripod with a plum bob hanger and compare the result of the optical plummet to the plum bob. The plum bob is always correct.

Idk if this is like the X7 on the auto adjust, but on the X7 if it isn’t close to level it actually does introduce error which we proved. Always good to get as close as possible the electronics can’t get rid of it all. Good procedures should never be abandoned. We had the problem with the X7, the crew got lax and we had issues trusting the electronics and sales pitch.
@ulay9752Ай бұрын
Ri has auto level and compensates a big tilt. X7 should do the same, but not as much as the Ri I think.
