Thinking back on Leah's question about what's my favorite Star Wars streaming show and least favorite... and it comes down to cohesive story telling and that's why I put Skeleton Crew up at the top because of how they told a cohesive story that flowed from the start to the end of the story they were trying to tell. That was/is my frustration with Book of Boba Fett, The Acolyte, and even parts of season 3 of Mando. I'll add the more I think about Jod's character and his question/statement that "we are all hungry", he has become one of my new favorite characters in Star Wars and I hope we see more of him. The deeper question of "we are hungry" and what is it that truly fills us or satisfies us is an age old question that even Jesus lifted for us. I think the kids in Skeleton Crew found it in friendship and family, I'm wondering if this will help Jod in his (hopefully) ongoing story.

Absolute DC has been a blast so far. X-Men has its ups and downs, but overall I'd say it's good.

Beowulf was always a favorite of mine. I was real miffed when my college professor deliberately chose not to use Tolkien's translation for our literature class.

Yeah, rudy can be pretty naive sometimes. Regarding Pax he does have some depth but that is a season 4 material. Characters in this even some of the bad ones have deeper motivations and backstory including Zanoba and Elinalise. But Mushoku is a slow burn so not everything is immediately thrown to us-it builds to certain points. Also the shirone royal family the kids have different mothers, concubines and yes it was poor parenting 😂 pax was neglected and is at the bottom of succession and importants so he lashes out abit.....who am i kidding he lashes out tremendously. His unhealthy obsession over roxy was due to her while being the court mage and his tutor gave him more attention than he's use to. As to Zanoba he isnt really a pervert but the novels give the impression that he's a little "touched" mentally and possibly on the spectrum. His super strength and durability makes him both a tool and object for his kingdom so he finds it difficult to relate to people and has only interests in his passion: Art, dolls, figurines. Hes something of a conuisiure.

There's a misunderstanding in the beginning. (The North saint) he didn't say he was Auber he said that he is the student of Auber, the peacock blade (the north emperor) who was the student of Kalman 2. The actual Auber isn't showing up until season 3. Oh, and ps Kalman is a nickname given to the inventor of the North god style swords school, who was one of the heroes who fought and survived the Laplace wars 400 yrs back. He is called Kalman 1/the first he had a son who took his position and became known as kalman 2/the second (who was mentioned above) kalman ii then passed his title to his younger son who is known as kalman 3/the third who currently is listed at seventh place among the seven great powers. The North God is a title given to the most powerful and skilled practitioner of the North god style swordmanship martial arts.

Great podcast! It's likely just based on my experience, but I still resonate with Donna being bipolar more than just alcoholic/narcissistic. Best performance of the show either way.
