Just because something is relatively complicated does not mean its "nerdy" or "geeky". It's not a good term to aim at impressionable children who WOULD be fascinated in what you're doing.

Comments like yours are why some people view those words as "negative". At what point did those terms become so taboo? I have spent over a dozen years speaking and educating school kids about weather. Not once has anyone been upset or offended by the use of "geek" or "nerd". If anything, it has helped break the ice and taught kids there is absolutely nothing wrong with being called a "geek" or a "nerd". This has helped fuel their enthusiasm even more. I hope you will lend a hand in encouraging today's children to not let anyone--or any term--prevent them for achieving success and happiness.

Thank you for this! I love the way you explained the green screen! My students are going to be making a weather forecast of their own using a green screen app, so this is a great introduction to that lesson!

Wow. That's amazing how you guys somehow kept your calm through the chaos. Kudos to you guys! You saved a lot of lives that day, and thank goodness that tornado MISSED you altogether.

Thank you for your excellent coverage. I felt safer once I tuned into KSN. It was nice to see the best of the best covering the severe weather. I was surrounded by people who thought the storm was a joke; and I was in a small town that I was unfamiliar with. When I saw you guys pop up, I felt much more secure. Thanks for providing such great, easy to understand coverage.

@Jrrath Well thank you! Yep, I'm back closer to home (I'm from Salina, KS). As far as my name, "Black" was a former radio name that stuck with me while I was in ND. I'm now using my given name on-air these days. Take care!

Hey there JD. Glad to see your weather again. I watched during the summers when on vacation in Mohall, ND. I was wondering where you had run off to. Also, did you have your name changed or? Anyway, good to see you have got a great thing going!
