i am planning a holiday in tanzania and Zanzibar in september. i need reliable autofocus by then. if Fuji doesn't give us a fix til then, i will also downgrade my firmware. what good is reala ace if the fotos are put of focus? shame on fuji, its just frustrating and tiring. again and again.

Took my XH2S to Japan and had it experience freezes a few times on 7.0. AF still seems to drift to objects that aren’t what I started out with. Ruined a shamisen performance because it drifted from face to someone’s camera on tripod instead. I brought my A7R3 as backup and was using it for some stuff because I was concerned I wouldn’t get shots or clips with XH2S

It seems crazy that a huge established camera company wont actually fix the problem. You have to ask, are they in financial straights or just dont care? Its obviosly an attempt to prevent a costley recall and not put out a new camera with a different AF system. No brainer….they have faulty parts.

Something not right at Fujifilm for years. You complaint of latest firmware.. But these are long problems. Every generation was falling way behind the competition in terms of autofocus. Somehow things are not shown well to the public. I have Fuji, Sony and Ricoh. I prefer to use Fuji by a fair margin. But it is also the system that promises a lot and gets to much unreliable. This is 2024!! Why is Fujifilm the only camera that I am constantly checking for focus? Every shot is a random experience.

Thanks for your Video. I've got Autofocus problems within shorter distance of about 1m. I got the red AF! symbol. If I go for something a couple meters away it works out fine. As soon as I switch on animal detection the short distance works out fine, but longer distance won't focus anymore. Never happend before 6.01 with the 50-140 2.8. Not good

@@chicaneti I found the solution. It was in the Camera. The range limiter has been set to 5m. As soon as I switched it back it was fine again.

@@oliverh.7453 There are issues with Fujifilm AF, but there are also things like this that are making it seem worse than it is. I hadn't used Multi-AF mode in forever and tried it last night. It was so bad with an f1.4 lens. Generally fine at 2.8 though. There are always more settings to find that are holding us back from getting what we are hoping for.

Indirectly you are bashing me for making those vids , 1. For my usecase the AF is bad especially in video 2. Settings you're talking about that I make the camera intentionally to fail is not true , tracking and speed , lower the tracking (0) the camera tries to focus fast or a new subject or fast moving subject ( its not actually tracking, its just how fast you want the camera to re-focus) , and if you increase the "tracking" to +4 the camera wont focus immediately on a moving subject, it waits longer. 3. I can compare the firmwares instantly , no need to have job to see is bad , and im not doing a job if I dont know how the camera works , i just compared 1.03 to 7.0 running towards the camera in video . And you're welcome , Your xh2s doesnt focus on the hands no more because of my "bad" vids.

What I said was, people should focus on their own experiences and judge for themselves, I’ve seen your videos, I’ve seen others, I’ve seen people deliberately set up the test to fail (I never mentioned names out of respect just what I see) there’s multiple factors that can cause issues, I bashed Fuji for releasing bad firmware which it was, could there be a problem with your camera since mine is not as badly as affected as yours? What’s important is that people make their own decisions, someone can watch a video and be influenced very easily by what they see and make it their own reality when it’s not the case at all, why is my Xh2s not as bad as yours? I just gave my opinion and thoughts, I never mentioned anyone :)

@@AlpsLifee the angelbird cards you use, are hard to comment on, because they have several series, slow and fast, on top of which their first revisions of some cards were bug-prone… you need to be using their fast series and second revisions for reliable performance

YES! Same, this had happened to me numerous times - especially when using Triggers for Off Camera flash for my client work. I had 2 international shoots (big, world known brands in the food industry) and it was so embarrassing when my XH2 kept on freezing. It required me to take the battery out to restart. Happened about 9 times within the time of 6 hours of shooting. I am hoping the new update for the XH2 and XH2s fixes this + improve the AF reliability.

@@AlpsLifee it wipes the floor with the FX3 if you have an anamorphic lens, as it has specific IBIS implementations that work with those lenses, without which you will have jello city even on the FX3. It also has built in desqueeze. It's not old at all and almost nobody serious about digital cinema uses autofocus. AF is for videographers and commercial events people, not cinema work. that's about the only thing it lacks. I have both cameras, just telling you the reality of it.

Firmware 6.0 broke my xh2s, it can't focus in video with 33 1.4 wr, it's all blured out, or it's pulsating all the time, the autofocus of the camera is unusable after the "update"...what a shame...i'm very disappointed

Hey brother, in case you ever use the XH2s for anything in the future, I have find that subtracking Midtone detail (MD) in davinci resolve really helps with reducing the horrid sharpness of the xh2s. You can apply it to all of the clips via adjustment clip. I do it on a per-clip-basis though.

Seems like a positive update but I'd like to have auto object tracking detection x-s20 rather than having to select car, bird etc. Feels like an omission from its flagship camera.

to my understanding, that feature only works on an auto setting if im correct? which would indicate its more for amateur users (not saying that this is true) but thats to my understanding, hence why its not on the flagship as its aimed at more seasoned pros, plus im sure you can assign a shortcut to choose which subject you want to detect, however I get your point that if its in the lower end cameras it should at least be in the higher end ones especially as its more than capable of doing so.

Absolutely love this movie - It's directed really nicely, with a feature film quality look, the colour design, costume, sets, the lighting, framing, and the cinematography is perfect, and the performances of the actors was also great - It reminded me a lot of movies that I watched as a kid by Dario Argento, and other Italian filmmakers, also the ambience reminded me a bit of some Clive Barker movies I watched too. What lenses and lighting did you use on this one???

THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL, ROCKY, and AS GOOD AS IT GETS etc however I can sometimes appreciate horror stuff that’s got a ‘feel’ to it - CLIVE BARKER did some great stuff like HELLRAISER, NIGHTBREED, and ‘THE CANDYMAN’ which had some great atmosphere to it. And I love Dario’s work. You should definitely check out Clive Barker’s work yes.

I want to add regarding the file transfer using the grip compared to the wifi of the camera itself… the grip transfers files much much faster because it actually has a Ethernet port so you can upload full quality video to your editor not just proxies. Even the wifi 6 it has is extremely fast plus you get an option to connect your phone to it with usb c. Beyond that the grip is really really nice especially if you are shooting vertical format. It has all the buttons you would ever need and the 2 additional batteries give you all day video and photo so honestly perfect for wedding photographers or video folks. The grip also help with heat management as you can run the camera with the 2 batteries from the grip and leave the one in the body out which often gets hot from recording. Other than that this update is awesome and fuji once again is taking care of us.

This s beautfully done - It is a fantastic piece, the lighting and cinematography, make-up, acting, and effects are top-notch. I love the cinematography, and the acting from the main character, and her father, was very impressive. It felt too short though - I definitely think you could expand it out with more, but regardless, it is excellent. Thank you for sharing this, what lenses did you use on this by the way?

@@AlpsLifee wow that’s amazing - it’s very inspiring to see that you made it with 2 lenses - I also watched your ETERNA movie, that one was beautiful, it reminded me of some classics horror movies I watched as a kid from Dario Argento, and Clive Barker. I love the cinematography in that one too, more so than this one - however the ending was the only thing that didn’t agree with me, as I knew what was going to happen. Love the vampire styled performance from the actress who was playing the killer/photographer, and the performance of the model/victim, she portrayed the innocence really well. Love the lighting and the cinematography in that one. That one is brilliant.

Yes. But is the file that was recoded in focus. Many of us were fooled (myself included) when Fuji showed us how well the box followed the subject only to find the many of clips continuously lost focus. Please include this if you post again. I hope this time they get the firmware correct so the X-H2S performs as their marketed claimed. Right now I am skeptical of anything Fuji releases with respect to autofocus.

Your video was the only notification that there was an update for the X-H2s! I have a X-H2, as well, so I suspect an update will be coming out shortly for that body. My X-H bodies have only used 1st party lenses and the oldest ones at my disposal are the 16-55 and 50-140 …

If I was going to hazzard a guess, you said I have one of the brands right - Did you film this with a SONY FX30? Oh yes the AUTOFOCUS setup guide would be amazing!
