Hi, thanks for your comment, both boats are good boats, see my honwave videos for performance of t38 and t32. t32 keeps up with the 38 in all but the choppiest of seas. (Seas that you wouldn't want to go out in) I'm keeping the quicksilver as my boating needs have changed from regular long distance jaunts to occasional short beach hopping days. I know where there's a nice t32 for sale lol 😎. Other boats to consider t35 or similar, depends if you want to trailer it, that then brings into a load of different issues.

There's two sayings I've heard regarding boating, 1. there's no garages at sea, 2 if you haven't got it, you can't use it ! So being prepared for most eventualitys is of the upmost importance. I've tried to think of most scenarios I'm likely to encounter and packed accordingly.👍

Hi are you still happy with the boat 2 years on? I looking at SIBs, I want an all rounder (for fishing, diving and excursions) boat being light weight and fast would be nice ideally I'd lie to be able to water ski from it sometimes but I'm told thats not exactly possible, how do you feel about the honwave t38 now 2 years on?
@MrKeelan74
@MrKeelan74 Жыл бұрын
The honwave t38 is a great boat, capable fast and light, if you've seen this video you've probably seen my others some in quite choppy water. To ski, you'll need a boat with prob 60hp min. Fishing excursions and diving can all be done off the t38 or a t35 is good if you can get a trailer for it, couple both with 15 hp or above and you'd have a good capable little boat. Questions to ask yourself, do you want or have space for a trailer, how many people will be in the boat, what conditions will you be going out in. ? Hope this helps.

On a choppy sea there can be some flex, but less than you'd expect, this in no way inhibits performance. If you go for a solid floor you'll be looking at a trailer, or a battle at the launch site trying to but your boat together.

I've had both, both have advantages and disadvantages. If your looking for a roll up boat then the t38 or t32 are hard to beat. If you have space at home for a trailer you could go t35 ae which has loads of space, but you'll need to park your trailer somewhere when you get to your destination. Obviously how much gear and how many people your taking out need to be considered. The aluminium floor boats are not really designed for regular setups and set downs. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comment, if you can't get the t35 on a trailer, or nowhere to put a trailer when you've launched your boat (and that adds in another dimension of hassles) then if your after an easier and faster setup then it has to be the inflatable option, I've had an air deck and they are good. With the air hull you get a good "V". I've never punctured or had to repair the hull. I guess the decision is with you in the end, you can reduce weight, strengthen the floor by dropping to the t32 but you'll be sacrificing size and sea keeping ability, which depending on the conditions you go out in may, or may not matter. Hope that helps.

@@MrKeelan74 Thank You for the video. You're right, I did have a very interesting experience when I crossed the channel to the isle of white (from portsmouth) on a bad day. I knew very little about sea conditions so i thought it would be fine to go out on level 4 winds (i checked the service manual of the boat and read that it can handle waves of up to 2 meters, and this was well below that so i thought everything would be fine). Everything seemed fine until we got closer to the Isle white. All of a sudden the weather turned and i couldn't see past the waves; to say i got caught out would be an understatement. There was a point where i wanted to call the emergency services but i feared if i let go of the engine and the side that the boat would capsize or i would go overboard. I did at one point wonder why there were no other boats in the water and in hindsight this should have sounded alarm bells, but my sensible reasoning did not prevail. To make matters worse I was with my girlfriend, my mother and her partner (I had invited them for a day out thinking it would be a lovely day) and ended up traumatising them. I remember feeling very guilty that i had (at least in my mind, although probably in real life also) put my family in danger and promised myself that i would never be in that situation again. Having said that, the boat performed extremely well. We did have to hold on tight, and we got thrown about a fair bit and absolutely soaked, but there was never a point where i thought capsizing was imminent. My biggest concern was not knowing if the sea would get much worse because i felt that was very close to the limit. At least my limit. Needless to say i now plan my trips around the weather and sea conditions as if im honest, i kind of traumatised myself as well! - I don't really have a fixed boating area. I have mostly used it on the river thames for convenience (i'm based in London). I took it to Gillingham Pier once but found it boring - the sea is far too calm for my liking. I've taken it to Portsmouth about 4 times, 3 of which have been great fun but thats about it. Would love to take it up to Scotland at some point.

@@MrKeelan74 Most would be sitting in a comfy chair watching your so called meagre efforts so well done you great video, great set up you have, I have a 4m Tohatsu hard floor sib with a 15hp Tohatsu motor, great combination for fishing here on the west coast of Scotland.

@@starofdavid9919 thanks for your comment, I'm sure your boat is well suited to the coast of Scotland. Very pretty area, and challenging in a sib too. We took a honwave t35 with a tohatsu 18hp up to Oban when we stayed there about 7 years ago, we only got out once due to bad weather but it was good when we did. Looking to get out again soon.👍
