Loyalty goes up and down the chain. Not one way. Mutiny is a crime. Using threats to get cooperation is a crime. People think senior people are so powerful. And those with connections can be. We all must work together to lead a unit. Hard charging commanders are eliminated every day because of disloyal subordinates and mutiny but of course who decides what causes failures in a unit. Civilians fooled by psychopathic liars? Could be. A person's record and personal reputation mean nothing to these people. These videos on leadership are good. It is too bad they target the wrong audience. I wonder why we have so many of these videos coming out now. There must be a leadership void somewhere. People are not staying in the AF or the service for a reason. Keep making it harder to get promoted and the 1950s rank stagnation will return. Remember, a good leader can be derailed or destroyed from within by the actions or inaction of subordinates.

The US is not a democracy, it never has been. It gives us the illusion of a democracy because we get to vote but the word democracy does not appear once in the constitution. If we want a true direct democracy, we need to redesign the constitution from the ground up.

I day dreamt (?) all my life before smartphones, I guess smartphones made it worse. I didn't have a cellphone until I was like 17-18 and didn't have a smartphone until I was 23 (I'm a 34-year old millenial).

After working at a Hilton, I can confidently say it was one of the worst jobs I've ever had. The management team was horrible and manipulative. There was no joy. There was always hour cuts and not enough staff even when it was a full hotel. My coworkers were not happy and it showed toward the customers. The budget cuts on staff were a huge burden on morale. No dancing, it was a very sad work day. Hilton, if you care start with checking your properties for brand standard.
