3:06 This is quite a non-sequitur non-scientific article, where imagination and illusion takes over logic and factual reasoning. Quite a stretch indeed, unless better foundation is provided

Ah~ yet another Buddhism-related video that excludes Vietnam as a Buddhist nation despite 55% of the population being Buddhist. I find it really odd why, time and time again, Vietnam gets excluded from the list. Vietnamese Buddhism is a bit unique in that culturally, it is within the sinosphere but geographically lies within SEA. As such, both Theraveda and Mahayana are prevalent in the country/culture. With that being said, some could argue that Theraveda is only really prevalent in the South of Vietnam whereas I think the north is either extremely small or non-existent. I would definitely say that Vietnam, though possess both schools of Buddhist thought, favour mahayana Buddhism more as there are definitely more mahayana temples scattered across the length of the whole country and even vietnamese communities abroad.

To me Shiva's dance is much closer to us. It represents everyday's decision to fight or to adapt, and also everyday's losses which open the door to everday's gains. Every decision, every choice implies to let go of something, and life goes on in that cycle. It can be virtuous by understanding motivations and consequences, or it can be vicious by letting Mara to guide us with dellusion, easy and short lived lies. No need to fear, because that nature's cycle is by itself wise, continuous and unavoidable. 🥰🌻🇨🇷

Theravada itself is pretty confusing because of Abhidama
@wordscapes5690
@wordscapes5690 2 күн бұрын
@@nicholasbellum1507 But the Abhidamma contains the very kernel of what the Buddha taught. Without the Abhidamma, Buddhism is not possible. The Abhidamma is part of ALL Buddhist traditions. If you are not fond of deep speculation on issues of meditation, it is always possible to receive the simplified guidance of a bhikhu or bhikkhuni who will be able to simplify it for you. It is not necessary to study Abhidamma as a layperson or householder.

@@wordscapes5690 I am saying this from a scholar point of view. It is true that Theravadas views the three pitikas (The Pali Canon) as the ultimate truth that Buddha said without any modification, it is not clearly true. In the early schools of Buddhism (The time period is before the Theravada sect is established) , some had Abhidharma and some didn't. And each school has different Abhidharma teachings. It is confusing to learn the different variations of Abhidharma if one wants to try find the absolute truth. Also, it should be noted that there was no Abhidharma in the First Buddhist Council.

Anicca: Nothing in this world can be maintained to one's satisfaction. Anatta: Nothing in this world is fully under our control which is why it is unfruitful. Dukkha: Clinging to things that are anicca and anatta causes suffering which can be removed. These apply to our idea of self as well. An average person thinks that the 5 aggregates of existence (Form, Sensation, Perception, Mental Formation, and Consciousness) belong to them and they attach to them and identify them as their "self". But these aggregates are also of anicca and anatta nature which is why clinging to them causes dukkha.

Sanatana Dharma alone gives a verified step by step approach to return to Brahman from whom all souls, Shakthi and Creation arose and sustained eternally by Him/Her. Hence, it is more than a religion. Religions talk about God, His Oneness, etc. but do not tell how to get back to One's True Home!

I think even today the women of India uphold the traditions of femininity, the shakti energy by wearing saris and behaving modestly. So many women in the west want to dress like and even act like men, it is refreshing.
