The public describes centrepoint kids as supervillians, lol.

"Thanks" to screentime and youtube... nowadays children don't even want to go out... they are just glued to the screen...

Some of these teenagers sounded so eloquent, sincere and intelligent. I'm surprised the standards of the time still labelled them as "punks".

The last shot is epic. Centrepoint used to ‘dress up’ for Christmas and I remember there was an annual competition for the best decorated shopping mall in Orchard Road. The malls spent more back then in decoration during Christmas and they look much better than now. The 80s and early 90s were wonderful times. People were more relaxed and happy back then.

I miss 1980s Singapore. There are too many foreigners here now. Too many foreign students too. No internet and no TikTok and yet these kids were cool and creative.

Wah that's cool, It's like before far east and takashimaya kids (which I was a part of in the 90s) There were the centre point kids Just hanging out because home is boring, and to make friends. Much is lost today

I saw Roger Peng , Gabriel Pereira, Keegan Siow , one of the “chick” if I could remember should be candy or jasmine whom work as a part timer at basement Cassettes shop named “Supreme music” beside Macdonald… unfortunately Roger Peng was killed 1997 at Holland Amsterdam .

I'm still a CP Kid at heart. I will never feel or grow old. I still listen to my favourite 80s music and in this era, techno music is my jam! I noticed some familiar faces in the video. Wishing all the CP Kids the best of life 💪

Those were the days with no internet, no smartphone and not even neighborhood malls. Very limited place and nothing much to do so youths just meet up in Orchard. Even my teenage time in 2005 a lot of youths were hanging out in Far East Plaza or Peninsula. Many kind of style. The rocker/scene, indie kids, punk, skinhead, rudeboys or just plain bengs/mats. I even remember came across expat girls dressed in goth dress. But by the time 2008 I realized the music scene kids were pretty much gone. Maybe we just grew up from that youth phase and moved on. I really miss those days where you could see random kids dressing up

I was an expat very recently, from 2017 to 2021. Lived my latest teen years there and there are goth expat girls everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. The expat party scene is very much alive. Places like Holland Village and around the Clarq and Boatq area.
