What do you use to film and how do you add that ay display in? It's so cool
@RawJourneys8 күн бұрын
Nothing fancy. Just a simple action camera. I record the GPS separately on my phone and then add it later. 🙂 What are you using?
@Trident43908 күн бұрын
@RawJourneys I've never seen anyone add a GPS into their vids in the corner, I'm guessing you add that in editing as an overlay? Me personally I use 3devices to film because I tend to film a lot, I need a lot of battery so I use an S20U, S21U and an Oppo Find X2 Pro. And for My FRVs I tend to use my Xiaomi M10T Pro because of its 5000MAH battery lasts all day for long videos and doesn't moan at me for being too hot/overheating like my Find X2 does
@RawJourneys8 күн бұрын
@@Trident4390 you're more dedicated than I am!! I only carry my small camera and my phone. I also have a small power bank, in case my phone or camera need a battery boost. Yep, the map overlay has to be done in editing afterwards. It's a bit of a pain, and it doesn't always work properly because sometimes the phone just loses the GPS signal. But when it works it does save me having to annotate the video with locations. I'm trying to streamline the process to make it as quick and easy to do as possible. But some fiddling about in editing is inevitable.

@@RawJourneys I usually manage to capture 20+vids in one day from as early as 08:30am to as late as 19:15pm so one device doesn't cut it where as 3, I can get through 2phones on 100% both capturing 8vids each then then on the final I can get at least 4more with an additional two if I push which that final one finishes on about 60%, my power bank is a 20,000Mah so it gets the job done and still has a full charge on it by the end of the day

Thanks. It's a bit fiddly to do it, because my camera doesn't have GPS, so you need to separately record the GPS coordinates on a phone. Definitely makes the videos more interesting to follow though, so I'll keep doing it as often as possible.

Absolutely fascinating, thank you so much for posting. I cannot believe how much change there has been since I left Birmingham in 2000. I travelled from Acocks Green to Witton and Perry Barr for years on this route. Some of it is completely unrecognizable. The most disappointing thing to me are the red buses. Why on earth change this after decades? The cobalt blue and primrose was so iconic in the 50's and 60's as was the WMPTE blue which followed. Such happy days. Great nostalgia!
@RawJourneys3 ай бұрын
Yes, I remember the old colour scheme. So much nostalgia for this long-running service. And, yes, there has been so much development and re-development over the last 40 years. But there are lots of iconic buildings and landmarks still standing too. I agree the new red coloured buses very much resemble the current London bus style. But there is a possibility the old colour scheme, or a similar one, might return. If the NXBus contract ends and services end up being run by the WM Combined Authority, it might go to their blue and cream colour scheme. That would be a few years away though. Glad you liked the video. I've got a few more from Birmingham on the way. 🙂

In northen Sweden we've several long bus linies. From where I live we have a busslinie that is about 90 km long. If you go more north I promise you've longer buslinies.
@RawJourneys3 ай бұрын
As I explained in the video description, this video is specifically about the longest bus route that operates within a single metropolitan area. In the UK we have longer routes that run "intercity", from one urban area to another town or city, but we usually refer to them as "coach services". It's all a matter of semantics in the end. 🙂

What happened at 1hr 30min? Did you change bus, did it become a different route? According to the timetable (and Wiki), the 11A and 11C are now split at Acocks Green and Perry Barr/Erdington to improve timekeeping and allow for rescheduling journeys if there is congestion. Which, of course, means they are no longer 27 miles long.
@RawJourneys3 ай бұрын
The driver of the bus had finished his shift. It stayed the same route (11A). NXBus will often have driver changeovers at certain locations - usually in central Birmingham like the Priory Queensway, but here at Acocks Green too because the bus depot is located here.
