in the video you state that the metal rod showing through has been fixed, but on the file I downloaded that was linked, the metal rod still shows through? am I missing something ?

Naw, got mine from a gent in Alabama, aged out and no place to work on it. Side stand is bent so I'm looking at options. No hurry. Did you change coils? Mine are cracked

That charger has a continuous 12v output for testing and things like that. Just hold the power button and it’ll change over. If you leave it in the charging mode it’ll keep looking for a battery.

Wouldn’t some kind of epoxy glue be better, especially for those looser fitting joints?
@koideath Жыл бұрын
Yeah epoxy is a great option but with PLA super glue work just fine. You could use a solvent based glue on say ABS and have a very strong bond.
@officialWWM Жыл бұрын
@@koideaththanks. I have just completed mine and I found the superglue didn’t give me enough working time (it’s summer here in Australia and very hot!). I found epoxy gave me a little more time to get the parts together straight. Also, there was a few gaps between some of the parts and epoxy fills the gaps well. A couple of problems I ran into is that not all the holes printed and I didn’t realise till I had it all together, so sorting that problem was interesting, lol. Also, I have a different bridge that mounts with 4 screws under the saddles. I didn’t think that would be a problem but when I screwed them in, I realised these very little for them to screw into. I ended up making an aluminium plate to go on the back with nutserts in it and I bolted right through the body into the plate, effectively clamping the bridge down. It seems to work great so far. I’ll be stringing it up and testing it tomorrow :)

I have one of these on my printer right now. Even if it doesn’t sound good, it will look cool hanging on the wall 😂 By the way, you didn’t include the file or that plug :) I literally bought the cheapest Squire as a parts donor.

About as nice as it gets. I had a 1971 R65 and rode around Hollywood in the '80s. Took Miss Hawaiin Tropic 1984 on a breakfast date to Norms-with her on back. Ordered 2X2X2X2 which was two bacons, two pancakes, two sausages and two eggs. She looked at the new Miss America on the cover of La Times or USA today and said, "I think she's pir-ty." Some things you never forget. I remember her holding on to me- as we rode down Ocean BLVD to the Venice Norms.

Love it, going to try this out! What were your print layer and infill settings, did you follow the original model's .15 amd 40%? I'm thinking of trying a .2 to save some time but i'm not sure if it's less ideal

I actually did .3 and did a 20% gyroid infill on non-critical parts and about a 40% infill on load bearing parts.

What I'm most concerned about with printed guitars is how well the material resist to heat. I've read that PLA is deforming at around 60°C iirc? How is stability going with your guitar after months using it?
@koideath Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. Ideally a higher temp filament would be better. Next one I am doing is going to be out of carbon fiber infused PETG. But with that said the one in video is still holding strong with no deformation. Granted I haven’t had it outside in direct sunlight it’s just been in my house.
