I am definitely interested in seeing your video about midi changes and how you incorporated them in Ableton and how the midi changes are automatic with the QC.

Tempo changes are what I am struggling with via CC#44. Specifically how to change to BPM 164 or BPM 135, etc. Have you run into this challenge? (edit): I found the answer, make sure the DAW settings for the midi device for "midi out" to enable sending the clock to the output, then program CC#44 at the beginning of each song, and QC will take the command to change the tempo to the BPM of the DAW (assuming each song tempo is set correctly since, in most cases, a click is used).

Putting the Quad Cortex through its paces! Looks like it’s the perfect rig for your application. Still amazed at what that thing can do. It reminds me of Andy Othling’s live rig with Ableton firing Midi cues to his pedals. This looks way more straightforward and doable. What a time to be a guitarist!

That’s awesome!! What is the name of the flight case you’re using for your guitars? I’m trying to find a good one that can handle lots of flights and protect the guitars (specially the Les Paul). Thanks!!!

Absolutely! It's an Enki case. I'll put a link here, but I've flow with it multiple times (even in rain) and I'm not concerned at all. Only think is that it won't fit semi hollow body guitars in the standard size enkiusa.com/products/enki-amg-2gc

Nice video! I was thinking about using my quad cortex and connect it to ableton so I can use some plugins in the last step of the chain, but I dont know which approach is better, if using the send and return of the cortex and connect there my audio interface or connect the neural cortex as an input of my interface and using the outs of the interface to my amp (with a preamp). What would you suggest?
@thadjohnsonmusic
@thadjohnsonmusic 6 ай бұрын
Are you using the quad as your amp sims? or would all the plug ins be coming after the quad in general? I would think to use the quad as your interface because you have more options of using the sends/returns from the usb channels

is there a way to the exact reverse of that. like you use the quad cortex as a controller to affect a feature in your daw or another midi capable program. I am currently running vocal effects through an Apollo twin and would like the QC to control the different FX needed based on whatever preset is currently selected. If you have an idea of how to do this could you please show me.
@thadjohnsonmusic
@thadjohnsonmusic Жыл бұрын
There might actually be a way to do that! You'd have to spend some time programming, but you would go out of the QC on a different MIDI channel in to the daw then have midi commands programmed to the CC or PC messages you'd send. In theory that's how I see it happening but haven't actually done it like that before

This is so great, thank you for sharing! I am trying to do the same thing with Ableton and my QC. I have successfully been able to to make the Scene changes, but I cannot get it to do the Preset Changes. How are you getting it to change presets from song to song? I would happily pay you for help. Cheers, Nick
