@ChristmasMerry6 It's the Gripen's turbo whine sound, not a "sonic boom." The distinctive whine comes from its engine and aerodynamics, especially during certain maneuvers or at high speeds, but it's not related to breaking the sound barrier.

Railroader myself (in America) and this whole coupling procedure just looks so dangerous. And yet, basically the whole world still uses this style of hook couplers, at least on occasion. I don't get it. Since I'm used to knuckle couplers, this whole procedure breaks virtually every safety rule I've learned when it comes to handling and coupling cars and engines. Not to mention it just looks insanely inefficient considering you have to do this every time you want to couple.

When we had a properly organised railway in the UK they were yes, and everything had the ability for locomotive rescue one way or another. Technically the 91 is a locomotive in it's own right like the 67

LNER still operate the InterCity 225, normally 4/5 sets out per day. They’ve put them in their version of the old Intercity with black replaced for oxblood maroon, LNER branding on loco/DVT and PRM compliant with grey doors.
