100%! The best way to tell the difference between a victim and a liar is to look for who wants to be pitied. Actual victims are ashamed of their victimization and don’t want people to feel sorry for them. That’s part of why it’s so hard to ask for help when we need it. False victims are much more likely to make false allegations than actual victims are to report actual crimes.

Interesting point about “evidence of physical injury”. How do we prove that a small scratch that supposedly came from a thrown object, actually did NOT happen at the time of the incident? We suspect “the victim” actually went to the bathroom and scratched himself, because there was no mark on the skin after the item was thrown. ☹️

What if the respondant texts and emails with no threats of violance but instead with applogies and concern. Basically going through the normal human reaction of the grieving process.

If there is a no contact order of any kind (Emergency Protective Order, Criminal Protective Order, Temporary Restraining Order, Domestic Violence Restraining Order) that is still a violation. A violation can lead to new criminal charges and can also be the basis (if it's a violation of a TRO that's part of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order case) for the permanent Domestic Violence Restraining Order to be granted. Also, the problem with apologizing (this from me as a lawyer, not a human) is that you are admitting fault. It can be used against you. It is hard, I know. A lot of people are essentially broken up with (sometimes from long marriages, even with children involved) by the sheriff serving them with paperwork. Some end up kicked out of their homes at the same time. Resist the urge to contact the other party for any reason. If you have already contacted them in violation of an order, then I do suggest contacting a domestic violence defense attorney before you make any statements, especially in court, because it could lead to new criminal charges. Please be careful and protect yourself.

What if she said it was amended to allow contact?? That's what my wife said that we can talk. There is a "no contact" box in the order that's not checked and she said that means it's amended to talk just because the box is empty. Not falling for that bs hah. And she even said that she's able to cancel the order when she wants and I know that has to be another lie. Thanks

I watched a lot of these videos preparing for a case an ex-friend randomly brought against me out of nowhere. I told her to stop texting me and a month later I get the sheriff showing up at my door with claims I've harassed her for 3 years. Despite her having zero evidence and changing her story multiple times, even being caught in a lie, the judge claimed I was 'too calm' to be credible. Even he agreed she couldn't meet the preponderance of evidence but still decided to approve the NCO basically saying he's allowed to make an inference, ignored everything I said, took her at her word and added in things she never testified to. I could tell from the start of the hearings the judge was biased though and just goes to show how corrupt the system is against men.

I have someone that filed a stalking order on me and because I didn’t care to argue the judge granted a mutal tro. The petitioner constantly stalks me now online. The petitioner has had her family reach out to me on Facebook messager and when I went to the police station they told me I could not prove it was her family… help

Well, it talks like that within your story it sounds like to me that it literally does not matter what either parties say that’s the states gonna continue on filing charges regardless, so it really sounds like to me that she walk in there and stay absolutely nothing and you might have a better chance of walking away on a harness from this please correct me if I’m wrong

My mother in law has a restraining order against her son, who’s currently in jail. He keeps sending messages to his sister that passes along his instructions and orders. He also send letters to his kids who are also protected under the RO. How do I report this and who do I report this to? He’s incarcerated in another city ??

I’m a public defender in California. I have never pushed a client facing domestic violence charges to take the first deal. I have never shown up to court without reading their discovery. I have also never winged a trial. I have won every domestic violence case I’ve tried. You should not insult every public defender in the state by posting videos like this.

Domestic violence is the biggest fraud in the legal system. They've expanded the laws to the point of absurdity, and they are criminalizing normal human behavior.

My daughter and I feel very fortunate to have Veronica Barton working with us. Her insight and communication has been everything we had hoped for. When we first started watching her videos, we were so disappointed that she was based in Los Angeles. But she is willing to “parachute in” to a courthouse six hours to the north, and defend my daughter against fabricated and exaggerated charges. ❤🙏🏼

Okay, so I got a good one for you. I've been homeless for a year now because my sister lied and exaggerated and Weaponized a restraining order and judge granted it, why did the judge granted it because for the last few years for some unknown reason to me my mom has been afraid of my sister afraid to confront her about the littlest things that may upset her so my sister dragged my mom to the trial at the end of the trial the judge didn't go by the evidence or anything he says to my mom what do you want mom and then proceeds to almost lead my mom With 2 questions do you want him to leave and do you want him to write you? She said yes and then no the judge looks over at me and says well you heard her that's what he based his decision on not the fact that I've never been charged with any crime at all I have a clean record especially nothing that has to do with domestic violence. I lost everything and my sister Celebrates by buying herself a new Lexus.
