@@davetaylor688 Donovan may very well have more offensive potential than Adams. This is not the same as SKILL. Fans often confuse potential and skill. Potential is unrealized skill. Skill is realized potential, understanding one's talents and using those to help the team. Clingan has the potential to reach Brooke Lopez status but Brooke spent years developing his outside shot while focusing on defense as his bread and butter. If he does that, he has a chance to be a quality starting center. I wasn't throwing shade at him by comparing him to Adams. Realistic comparison. Lopez is a best case scenario. Jokic, Embid, and AD are unfair comparisons because he hasn't show the basketball savvy to have an offense run through him.

Just saw your thread on Twitter and had to come spread some love on the vid. This was a great watch and perfectly incapsulates why we're so high on him. I hope we don't try an skip steps again in the rebuild chasing another "star" player before we have the rest of our team figured out. A move like that is for when you genuinely think you're 1 player away from serious contention. That's not where the team was when we traded for DJ ,and that's not where the team is now that we've traded him away. Now who knows, what if we get lucky and, Jalen takes a Maxey like leap, Dyson breaks out on both sides of the ball, Risacher is a high level contributor for a rookie, O solidifies himself as our center of the future, Trae has a massive bounce back season with no Dejounte and not as much of Capela holding him back on offense, the entirety of our questionable bench steps up, the team finally has a really good year of consistent play from start to finish, and we have a non fraudulent deep playoff run next season? At that point maybe you want to start packaging assets to get players that put you over the top. But until something like that happens its only going to shorten our window again once it doesn't work out. It seems like the FO learned its lesson by not making moves for players like BI and, Siakam and just doubling down on the problem. Now we're gonna see Jalen get a chance to have another breakout year as our number 2 guy. Hopefully he'll only have to deal with little (or no) Capela clogging the lane for him. With limited assets moving forward now, we're only going to go as high as him and Trae can carry us. Hopefully that's eventually to or near the top of the conference. This is the best I've felt about the team in long time. I realize that none of that stuff i said about our players or the team is guaranteed, or even super likely to happen, but the thought "maybe it could", makes me exited for the teams future. Thanks for showing our guy some love and putting on for him. You earned a sub.

@@bkken2990 First off I appreciate the kind words fr 🙏 But I couldn’t agree more with what you said. It’s like it took the Hawks getting the #1 pick to realize they’ve got to build this thing the right way. Adding Dej was never gonna put them over the top. You’ve got to develop your guys and get to a point where you’re one move away (like you said) before you make that type of play. Like you said I have no idea how this season will go for the Hawks but to me they’re on the right track in terms how you’re supposed to build a team

@malagadrivehoops6634
@malagadrivehoops6634 8 күн бұрын
Really good question bro. I think surrounding Trae with length is really important and Dyson is a really good defender so I would probably go Trae, Dyson, Zac, Jalen, Onyeka. It all hinges on where Dyson's shooting is in training camp. If it's not there I could see Quinn going Bogey as well as obviously Deandre for Zac if they don't feel Zac is ready. But to me this is a retool year and I want to see what I have in Zac/Dyson so i'd rock with them right away. Bogey in a flame thrower role off the bench and Deandre can still play 25+ min / close games for when Zac doesn't have it.

@@malagadrivehoops6634 Appreciate the response bro and I definitely share the same opinion on the starting line-up. I think moving on from Capela is a step in a better direction, giving Trae a more versatile 5 should open up the offense in a way he's only been able to experience with a few bench guys they've had in the past. Atlanta looks ready to be able to run a very switchable defense. Hoping this could be the season we finally see the team mesh. Also I love the appreciation you show for basketball in your videos, I found your channel yesterday and binged a few of your videos.I hope you keep growing!

But the intangibles this year, even more than last, is going to be teaching! Each man has at least one element in their game that is all-star caliber. Basically, they each have an opportunity to learn different parts of their individual games from each other! Stay healthy, Rockets. Last year was .500. This year? 🤔 I already made one crazy prediction. I’ll leave the record alone. It won’t matter anyway.
