If all of that doesn’t work should I then try draino before calling a plumber or not bother? Thanks for your help!!
@CRACKERJACKSDIY3 сағат бұрын
Don’t bother first of all it’s expensive second of all the Plumber might charge you extra for having to deal with the Drano if he needs to sniff the drain. Plus, Draino can damage your pipes if it just sits there.

i WAS HOPING THAT YOU WERE GONNA SHOW ME SOMETHING NEW.... I MEAN, ALL THOSE PROCEDURES DESCRIBED HERE-IN ARE BASICALLY ALL THATS EVER NEEDED BUT, I AM IN A SERIOUS JAM! i'VE SNAKED, I'VE DONE THE BAKING SODA AND VINIGAR, I'VE TRIED A WHOLE BOTTLE DISH SOAP AND THEIR HUNGRIEST ENZYMES, I'VE PLUNGED, DRANO'D FOLLOWED UP THE NEXT DAY WITH HYDROCHLORIC ACID, BOILING WATER.... YOU NAME IT.... I'VE GONE DOWN THAT PIPE WITH EVERYTHING... EXCEPT FOR A CAMERA... LOL, MINES MISSING.. AND ON TOP OF THAT, MY LAST TRY ABOUT 20 MINUTES AGO: I EVEN ATTACHED A 5 HORSEPOWER VACUUM TO THE OUTSIDE 4" CLEAN OUT AND AN AIR COMPRESSOR AT 125PSI TO THE OFFENDING PIPE, WHILE PLUNGING A SECONDARY SYSTEM THATS CLOGGED BIPROXY AND ITS FILLED WITH DRANO AND BOILING WATER...... HALF EXPECTING SOMETHING TO GO OFF LIKE A STICK OF TNT BUT, NOPE... NUTTIN! JUST A CLOGGED PIECE OF FLIPPING PVC AND THE RUN IS LIKE 40 FEET LONG.. AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE ITS AT... OTHERWISE I'D HAVE CUT IT OUT ALREADY! ALTHOUGH, I'D RATHER AVOID THE SCHITTY CHEM-LAKE THAT I'D BE SWIMMING IN AFTER I CUT IT.... OOOHHH ITS POOO, AND DRANO... AND HYDROCHLORIC ACID AND... OOOOHHH ITS DA POOO LOL... OMG, LAUGHING IS ALL I HAVE LEFT!! ITS LAUGH.... OR I TELL THE FAMILY THAT I SEEN A SPIDER AND IM SORRY THAT WE'RE IN A HOTELROOM UNTIL THE INSURANCE COMPANY SORTS OUT HOW THEY WANNA PAY! LMAO BUT HEY, THE TOILETS WORK!

I FORGOT THAT I EVEN HAD THE DANG THANG!! lololol I'll come back and let ya know how it went... I'll say this... before i go... THERE WAS NEVER EVER ANY CLOG THAT STUMPED HIM FOR THIS LoNG... ... Question. My sink clogs after i turn on dishwasher. Last time i thought to turn on disposal but water leaked from under. My apt maintenance supposedly fixed. My disposal was empty so i turned on dishwasher but sinked filled so i turned off dishwasher. My apts are closed for 3 days. My sink is full of water and so is my dishwasher. Help please. I'm trying method right now but scared
@CRACKERJACKSDIY9 күн бұрын
Don’t be scared more than likely it is a clog, especially if you accidentally got oils or grease down the drain or things like rice that can expand with water. Try the methods and don’t forget to use the plunger and block off one side. If this is the only Drain that’s giving you a problem that’s a good thing. If that doesn’t work, you need to let the maintenance team know so they can sneak the drain.

Omg I did put rice down the drain the other day😮. Ok all I need to do is plunger method. Ty

@CRACKERJACKSDIY15 күн бұрын
Plunging I’m not sure what’s gonna happen with the baking soda and vinegar. If you already put Drano down there, you’ll probably have to research Google That one. But hopefully the draino will work enough that the plunger will free it. Please wear safety goggles. Don’t get that crap in your eye!

Be careful. You cannot use boiling water if your pipes are made of plastic.
@CRACKERJACKSDIYАй бұрын
It will be fine because you’re pouring boiling water into cool water. It will neutralize almost instantly but it’ll be enough to break down the grease without damaging pipes. You want hot water to reach the grease and turn it from solid gunk to a liquid. It’s bad for plastic pipes (ABS or PVC) if it has repeated exposure to boiling water with no existing standing water. I have never had an issue. There shouldn’t be repeated exposure because once you have a clog like this, you learn real quick to not let grease get down the drain. At least that’s how it went for me 🤣

Some people tried multiple times. Did you try the plunger? If so, you have no choice but the snake the drain. Maybe you’re lucky and the clog is in the P-trap?
@roashel1975Ай бұрын
I’ve tried all this. My nephew has continuously poured grease down my drain. Nothing is working. Someone told me to try to acid. But I’m afraid that they will come back up in my house, and I have dogs.
@CRACKERJACKSDIYАй бұрын
If you have that much grease buildup, you’re gonna have no choice but to snake to Drain the problem with the acid is if it sits there, it’s gonna deteriorate your pipes and then you’re gonna be in big trouble. Sitting with grease is once it cools off it’s solidifies and it will not move. It will attract other junk to it that will stick and make the clog worse. You could pick up a snake for $35 - 50 at Home Depot. Take the p trap apart, clean the trap then run the snake in the drain going to the wall. The P trap should be hand tight only just pay attention to the way. The washers are oriented. Take a picture. If you need to to make sure it goes back the same way you will definitely need some buckets to catch any water. Good luck!!!

@CRACKERJACKSDIY oh yes, I have tried it many times, and over the past year it has been getting worse. I would have gotten under and taken the pvc apart, but if it didn't work, I can't call a plumber with my sick dog. I'll try it again today. I also just got a metal clog remover 30 inch. Wish me luck.😉
@CRACKERJACKSDIYАй бұрын
I’m rooting for you! Don’t be afraid to take apart the P-trap. It should only be on their hand tight pay special attention to the direction of the washers and make sure they go on the same way to avoid leaks when you put it back together maybe take a picture of it.. clean out the P-trap and then run your metal rod into the pipe going into the wall. Make sure to have buckets just in case. Let me know how it goes of course if you hadn’t tried it yet. Make sure to try the plunger seal off the other side really tight I mean airtight!

Still clogged! Am i screwed?
@CRACKERJACKSDIYАй бұрын
Some people had success training more than once. You are not screwed. If this is the only drain in your house that’s having an issue that would be a problem if it was more than one Drain. worst case scenario you have to take apart the P-trap apart and clean then run a snake into the wall. If you’re not comfortable with that, definitely hire a plumber for a very knowledgeable handyman. Do your best to avoid oils, grease or coffee grounds down to Drain in the future, this is most likely the problem.
@CRACKERJACKSDIYАй бұрын
Did you try plunging it yet? Make sure to seal off one side completely.
