I planted indiglo girl about a month ago. There was 1 bloom. Now it’s doing nothing. Not growing, not blooming. What is going on?

How did you deadhead Mystic Spires? Do the spikes flower from the bottom up? How do you know if you are buying the new improved version or the old version? Do you fertilize them?

We had a swarm of Monarch butterflies in a bed of 10 Mystics Spires near the sidewalk on December 6th of last year! (Central Texas - Zone 8b). People walking the neighborhood were taking videos. Most times, the show we get is with the native bees and, during the heat of the summer, the bumble bees. Truly amazing plant. I do question whether we have the plants spaced too close to each other. I've seen spacing recommendations of 12-18" apart as a bedding plant and as much as 2-3' apart (maybe the non-Improved variety?). Ours have been about 16" apart. Maybe we need less plants in that garden bed.

I just bought a mystic spires, didn’t know about the “improved“ variety but it sounds like I should have bought that instead.

I got two of these from the nursery this year, bit of a slow grower but that's ok, 🎉awesome colouring, it's in my 10 coleus variety garden as a boarder plant, will be digging them up in a few days to bring in for overwintering. A nice plant I don't want to loose.

Im rather new to gardening after buying my first house. Both my garden space in front of my house and the parkway were covered in very dry compacted dirt with no plants. It was BALD. I decided to plant purple and white lantana in the parkway as a ground covering. It's taken two years to fill in the very large space. There was a large space that was still bald so I planted lucky red lantana thinking it was going to be like the trailing kind I had already planted. Lucky red did spread out but also spread upwards into a mound . It is the best decision I made. It is absolutely beautiful and really compliments the space. I get SOOO many compliments on it. It also attracts all kinds of pollinators, especially butterflies. I absolutely love it.
