As the gabions fill with sediment, do they build them higher to prevent them from eroding?

I wonder if this practice might help fire prone areas to re-green areas.

One important note, the Sonoran desert wasn’t created by man, so get that community agitating to virtue signal on out of your head, again, the Creator caused the desert and mankind to have dominion over it, translation: get to work, observe the science (Law) and get to work doing the science; again the fact that science can be done proves there is a Creator, don’t fall into the trap of worshiping creation like environmentalist whackos wanting to consume the world upon their own lust… Worship the Creator who imparted by Special Revelation, Himself, intimately to mankind, his special creation the rest serves! You’re doing Nice Job in the desert… very admirable Wombman!

That's surprising? You mean adding organic matter to soil might help the soil? I need to apply for grants to study the obvious.

The earth has a POPULATION problem - and it is pressure of numbers, allied with rampant consumerism, that is causing the damage.

They did the same thing with coffee grounds too. Imagine that... They took natural things and let natural things happen and they got nature back. Who. Woulda. Thunk. It.

Sorry what do you mean? In this area it normally rains in July August and September but the rains only really come if there is a hurricane (anytime between May to November but usually most likely from July to September in this area) but sometimes it can just be rainy without a hurricane

Great project. Kudos to Florence. But there's so much preamble and padding to this. I'm 2.5 minutes in and you haven't said anything. 6.5 minutes in and you're still in breathless anticipation mode. 7 minutes in and we're finally getting to the technology.

How come CERN has only recently come discovered this idea of trees capturing the droplets of rain when my childhood books reflect this exact same circuit of rain cycle?

The water cycle is in the existing books what is not known about until recently is how trees attract rain through particle that help to condenstation into rain

Environmentalists, now this is how to deal with "climate change" and your fear that we are destroying our environment. Do something constructive. Follow the example of the beaver. Simple. Cut the hysteria and look for the solution that is right in front of us. Instead of destroying our way of life.

Well light sandy soil can be turned into rich black soil by making charcoal soaking in compost tea and then mixing it in also having a worm farm to keep a steady supply of micro tractors that poop fertilizer is a really good idea last tip is yeast water 4 teaspoons of molasses to 1 gallon of dechlorinated water or rain water prep the bread yeast just as you would for making bread mix and let sit for a few days then apply to the plants' bases or to a compost pile.

Water when behind gabions is percolating like coffee. Fast in the beginning and slow at the end but still going on. Slow motion like nature does it everywhere . I love the idea of percolating and that’s what water is doing anywhere. Nature works silently for the benefits of all. No fast talking but action everywhere. I just loved the documentary. Imagine now that thousands of villageois (French word for village people) start working in order towards the same goal . That’s what is happening in India (Maharastra) and showed by Pani Foundation . Large scale on stage. What if no more deserts in America ?
