I replayed Spec Ops recently fully knowing that Walker is going to spiral out into insanity ignoring original orders and going rogue and even knowing all that after playing the game myself before I STILL didn't catch where it happened. Right at the start. You were supposed to turn back after storming the plane at the latest, radio back to command and be done with it, but you didn't. Walker didn't. Between a sense of urgency and a desperate need to "be the hero" we rush in and walker always keeps repeating "Don't stop" "keep moving" "we won't rest until it's done". This game masterfully depicts what it's like to actually be at war. It's frightening.

When i played this game for the first time i have been 8-9 years old, and thanks to God that i didn’t understood the story because i would get PTSD so early…..Now i downloaded game again and played on FUBAR difficulty, man… What a story, what a development of characters and what a ending of this game. When i was little i would always choose to shoot Konrad in that mirror. But this time i realized that i can point a gun on myself… Insane. *Do you feel like a hero yet ?* *This is Captain Martin Walker, United States Army. Attempted evacuation of Dubai ended in complete failure. Survivors… One too many.* *HE TURNED US, INTO FUCKING KILLERS!*

A soundtrack that truly does need more recognition, would blast it on Spotify if it'll get to that platform.

For such a game this soundtrack is weirdly... relaxing. As if its adrenaline, keeping your mind away from horrors you're committing, only letting the bare minimum slip through. Just for you to see what you've done as soon as it wears off. Its beautyful, the whole game is. Its haunting, never letting you feel truly heroic, "Opening your eyes for the first time"...

This track perfectly subverts the “badass action rock music” trope you’ll find in other FPS shooters’ final levels or intense moments. Instead it’s somber, heavy, depressing and ominous. At this point in the game there’s nothing left worthy to fight for anymore, no clear goal in sight. It’s a pure, almost feral, fight for survival in a place that you wrought so much destruction on, that you helped raze to the ground (along with all the people in it). And now you’re fighting to save your own skin. So tell me…was it all worth it?

Here after Game Maker's Toolkit video. This was the first thing I thought after seeing it. traumatism, madness, regrets. I'm part of those fools who didn't saw the white phosphorous trick and went closer and closer into Walker psyche. This wife with his empty orbit and her screaming daughter shocked me.

Fun fact: This game was originally going to be developed by Rockstar Games. But then it was developed by Jager.

This is the most desperate and depressing soundtrack I've ever heard in the final push of any game I've played. I'm shocked I didn't realize that was the point the first time I played.
