Grow up, it's a word which is foreign to most people in Britain. There are hundreds of words in English, particularly names and placenames which are mispronounced by non-native English speakers. Try Mainwaring, StJohn, Guildford, Leicester.

Viviendo fuera de España, me siento especialmente patriota y me duele y cabrea ver algo así. En el estranjero se rien de nosotros, qué vergüenza!! I'm Spanish and it really annoys me when people pronounce chorizo 'choritzow' it is pronounced 'Cho-ree-tho exept the R sounds a bit different.

Not heard this 'un since God Peel played it - when I had to conceal my origins (for coming from a 'scab' district in that strike).

You should hear some of things Spanish people pronounce incorrectly when speaking English. I speak both languages and the other pompous comments on here are fucking ludicrous.

The expert at the Sainsbury's Deli Counter helpfully corrected my pronunciation of chorizo to what I can only imagine you would spell as"Chorits-zio". I asked her if she spoke Spanish and to my amazement she informed me she did not.

A lot of the time it'll be in the super market when you ask where the chorizo is or order some across the counter; but what really makes me grind my teeth is when they try to correct you *ding ding ding* the gloves come off lol ;P
