This is caused by Fast Startup. This feature pretty much just saves some system drivers in the hibernate file in order to save time while booting. It offers negligible performance in modern computers and I suggest you turn it off in the power plan settings. Look it up online and make a video about it. Best of luck with your channel!

@@Matthew1Rawling It eliminates the need to restart the computer, except for when Windows or OEM drivers need to update. Disabling this feature forces Windows to perform a restart cycle in every power off and power on, forcing every single service and driver to load from scratch. This setting is only beneficial for people running an HDD as their boot drive, but since HDDs are becoming obsolete, so is this setting. I hope Microsoft removes it in the future as a default option. In short, you won't need to do the classic IT solution for most problems, restarting.

In windows there is a thing called 'Fast Startup' that basically helps with turning on your computer faster, holding shift while pressing the shutdown button temporarily disables the feature (restarts temporarily disables it too) and the uptime doesn't get reset when you enable fast startup

This happens because people turn off their computers with the power button. The power button is to literally power the computer, not turn it off. Just use shutdown, it's just 2 clicks.

that is COMPLETELY wrong lmfao. Modern PC's are optimized for that since you see the windows shutdown screen. If it was an old pc then yes, that would be the reason. The actual reason is because fast boot is enabled in control panel.

Restart takes longer cause it fully turns off the PC and turns it back in shutdown is basically hibernating it's not really fully off that's why it's fast there's also an option to make shutdown actually shutdown but the reason it's off is cause it'll take a while everytime you shutdown @@KepzeyTech

@Hi_Im_o2 Actually you temporarily enable that feature by pressing SHIFT. If you press SHIFT with the restart button instead of the shutdown button, it takes you to recovery mode.
