How has this held up? Are you able to clean it without scratching the paint? I've always found spray paint to be soft and easily removable from cleaning with a sponge or just setting it on the ground.

Why not reduce the fan and the paint flow, or does the gun not perform well like that?

Hi, the gun definitely works like that and you could certainly do that. I prefer to have an 'open'/wide fan to get the good atomisation, it uses more paint especially on something like a bike frame but it is simple....

Cheers for the reply. Only just started looking at LVLP, and does look a good option for those less blessed in the compressor department. :-) Seen plenty of HVLP vids and reviews, and reducing the fan or going to a spot for this kind of thing seemed on OK thing to do. I was just wondering if LVLP didn't work well that way. How did the bike turn out? There doesn't seem to be a follow up video.

I used a HVLP for the first bike I did - it was a small touch up gun which worked okay but was continually waiting for the tank to refill. With the LVLP this didn't happen as much. I did some of the videos for the follow up to this one but for a variety of reasons including moving job and country never finished it.....

Daniel Asofiei Hi hope you liked the video. I think 22 psi is a good start point and adjust to the conditions from there. Whatever gives you a good coverage, effect, consistency. Pros know this inside out, the rest of us need to get it 'about right' to achieve something good.....

Hi, LVLP is better when you have only a small compressor. Previously I used HVLP on the same setup but found the tank would drain quickly so I was waiting for the compressor to fill the tank again etc

You need at least a 60 Gal Tank to spray with HVLP. I went this route and purchased a LVLP and a 26 Gallon Air compressor. Its the best option!

Hi Bart, I bought it from simplyrefinishing on eBay for 33 pounds sterling. It is a 1.4mm tip which works fine. Regards, M
