i remember watching this on video with dad when i was 8 or 9when it came out, being queen fans aswell im 45 now and still love it i dont think anybody but clancy brown couldve played that part, he had the best lines, there can be only one and its better to burn than to fade away

I bought the Queen picture disc vinyl for this at the time... still love the album. Thinking back to that time, I can't think of any other actors who could have played the role. It definitely seemed as though it was written with him in mind. Though he went on to play such boring forgettable characters in everything else he did. A shame, as I would have happily married the Kurgan 😂

Christoph Waltz is today's CL, both quite similar but I think Waltz can play Hero and Villians... CL seems such a sweet guy, he couldn't play anything other than a good guy... Calender Girl doing the 180 was great! 😅

Is that the guy in Inglorious bastards? Because Christopher Lambert has a film where he plays a german officer, and my immediate thought was how he looks very much like the german officer in Inglorious bastards.

CL was great as Connor MacLeod, his European accent worked well in the Present scenes, he did well with the Scottish accent too... also he had the coolest hilt, beautiful sword vs Claymore from Hell!

I dearly wish that someone would poke the offending owner of the soundtrack score recordings composed by Michael Kamen and make a comprehensive CD and/or downloadable FLAC release of them. t's depressingly difficult to get hold of the official score recordings for many 80s films for some reason - it's all the more depressing in this case because the Hinghlander score is so damn good and there are so few of Michael Kamen's to be had due to his early death.

Clancy Brown said in an interview that he was called up about being in Highlander 2 and he said the script was trash (they also werent going to pay him anything again) and Lambert called him up personally to try and get him to join up, Brown told him that the script was terrible and I think Brown was surprised Lambert wanted to be a part of it, but then Lambert replied, "I helped write that script." 🤣

@@thebenforever Christopher Lambert was never an A-list celebrity. He definitely had a cult following for the Highlander movies. It wouldn't surprise me if giving him Christopher Lambert a writing credit on the movie was what made him willing to actually do the second one. It's Not Unusual in Hollywood to give a actor a writing or producing credit in order to rope them into a project. I'm glad Clancy didn't do the second one what kind of gymnastics what they have had to do in order to get him after dying in the first one to be alive for the second one? It would have been another prequel type backstory of some kind that would have just muddy the waters in my opinion. The second one was enough hodgepodge begin with. Clancy was perfect in the first one he didn't need to come back.
@thebenforever
@thebenforever Жыл бұрын
@@leodwinak bringing anyone back is easy enough if they are a big enough audience draw (especially as cheesy as the second one was). He would come out of nowhere because a cult he had been gathering throughout the centuries, using a magic stone or something, had captured and sacrificed another immortal to give him back some level of immortality. Idk. Either way glad it didnt happen. Lol

Doubtful. He said it in an interview once but there has been no corroboration of the tale.
