Witherspoon was said to have thrown this fight to get away from King, he alleged King didn't pay him for the Bruno fight, so by losing to Smith he knew King wouldn't want him, I always thought Tim was a great Boxer and just maybe could have beat Tyson by the 90's King never allowed Mike to give him a shot, both Tim and King were locked in a legal case.

116-112 Axel Schulz Botha did not deserve this win. Botha Schulz 1 10 9 2 10 9 3 10 9 4 9 10 5 10 9 6 9 10 7 9 10 8 9 10 9 9 10 10 9 10 11 9 10 12 9 10 I think Botha gassed after three rounds. The steroids may have helped with that. I mean, his own corner knew they lost stating he needed a knockdown in the 12th to win this. Schulz was robbed. Round 6/12 were the hardest to score fwiw

Luis ortiz, valuev, ibeabuchi, wilder, stiverne, arreola, david price, usyk, parker, miller, whyte, helenius, breazeale, wallin, ruiz, briggs. Wlad never fought these guys. AJ and Fury beat him and would have in the rematch too. It is reported Usyk toyed with Wlad in sparring.

I remember David Tua was already signed to fight John Ruiz in this fight. I was so looking forward to seeing Tua get another chance of a title shot only for him having to pull out because of his managerial issues. Tua never came this close again.

I remember watching this fighting through the window of the white farmers and everytime John Tate punch they'll close curtains leaving us guessing outside and they ended up switching off the TV. But first and second round they made sure we see what was happening. It was really very hard for us as blacks those years having to stand outside in a cold weather and watch the fight and to go back where we stayed at night. We relied on moonlight since torches were for the rich.

113-112 (8 rounds to 7) Carl the truth Williams Holmes Williams 1 9 10 2 9 10 3 9 10 4 10 9 ? 5 9 10 6 9 10 7 10 9 8 10 9 9 10 9 10 9 10 11 9 10 12 10 9 13 9 10 14 10 9 15 10 9 And if ya give him round 4, it's an even bigger margin of victory. Robbery.

I remember when I was training at Joe Frazier back in the 90s, pointed to a pic on the wall of his office with him and Quarry exchanging punches and he said him and Quarry first fight was his toughest ever. With that in mind, I've recently looked back at.Quarry's career which has lead to realization his worst.flaw was always trying to outslug a slugger and out box a boxer.

Louis opens the opponent's left arm and takes the opponent down with a right hook. A classic combination. It works most of the time.

And they still fight on, endlessly , never fully knowing the end of the fight or the end of their lives. The comes out of their corners with their whole lives leading to this point....and the end lives on and on...somehow their fight and some twisted echoes of ghosts from ling ago, seem to dpring alive once more to fight, to fight on forever in time , never knowing when it will end.

It's a myth. In no way shape or form did Schulz deserve the win. I viewed a high-quality tape of the entire fight in the slowest motion setting with the volume turned off. That way I didn't have to listen to commentators Gil Clancy and Jim Lampley rave in awe for all those shots by Schulz that did not find their target. For the record, I had Foreman clearly winning rounds 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 11. 115/113 just as two of the three judges scored it. Even Larry Merchant, who had poked fun at George in the past, especially in the Holyfield and Alex Stewart fights, the former of which he called a "massacre" by Holyfield and the latter a "one point" win for Stewart had George winning here. Just because Schulz, an unknown, given little to no chance of winning and exceeded expectations does not mean he deserved to win. All that grappling and grunting by Schulz in close does not make his offense more effective. Foreman frequently drove Axel back with those jabs. Schulz spent much of the fight circling and back-peddling. He was largely ineffective having to throw from a distance so when he did manage to land his punches lacked effect as they barely made contact. Foreman landed the more authoritative punches with solid jabs, body shots, and the occasional but very effective uppercut.
