You can't handle .mp4 files on a G5, single, dual or quad processor. You can't even do it easily on a 10 year old Intel Mac. The reason is very simple: the files must be converted to a format that the program can handle: DV, Prores if they are SD, HDV, XDCam or Prores if they are HD. With these codecs your Mac G5 will easily handle your videos.

I just want to point out that I've made a huge error in this video as I forgot who the stage winners were after I watched the race and I was busy with other things. I knew all along that the Stage 1 winner was Denny Hamlin and that the Stage 2 winner was Chris Buescher. But, I just forgot, that is all.
