@timj hello, an error has occurred: "Failed to find volume file. Volume will be empty"? how to fix it? houdini 19.5.805, RS 3.5.24

Great one!, Any idea why Octane render shows me the bounding box of a flip simulation in the IPR?.. I just tried a lot of things and it does not work. the problem its from the DOP Network node.

Who not use H20+ in this video? No Octane version yet?

Wow that was INSANE. Super solid man. Just curious, is this same thing do-able with Octane when it comes to the masking/attribute? @timj

is octane better (faster/higher quality/realisticer) than the houdini renders?

Hello Tim! Thanks for the tutorials, they've been super helpful. I'm having an issue and i can't find the solution anywhere: When i import redshift assets, the models come in fine and the materials are imported, but i can't see the textures in the redshift render view. In the houdini viewport i can see a preview of the material on the mesh so I know that it's being applied to the mesh, but the object shows up grey in the render view. Any ideas? Someone told me that the principled shader doesn't work, but that's what houdini imports when i bring it in from bridge. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

I also did ask myself how would you mesh the metal example at the end. Point deform does not work here

Yeah me too, need to look into that!

Do you focus on karma xpu or redshift? Or octane is your main renderer?
@timjdesign5 ай бұрын
Currently I'm heavily using octane for commercial and personal work - redshift also sometimes. Want to get into karma too!

You can easily do this for the shape and color if you control drag on the desired node

Any preference in terms of render engines these days? RS or Octane?@@timjdesign
@timjdesign11 ай бұрын
Currently really prefer octane for direct client work and personal portfolio work, but of course most studios I'm currently at still using RS
@philippwelsing910811 ай бұрын
@@timjdesign Nice. The cloth and Octane Specular Mat looks fantastic, better than RS, actually. Thanks for the insight.

Yess! Especially the specular material, soo much better then refractive rs mat haha. Also the metal material looks so much more refined than the rs one

Hey! Thanks for the video cause I made baby steps inside Houdini :) But have one doubt... Do you know why Redshift does not show the preset materials( like glass, plastic, water...) on my renderview? Can´t change the colour of the object either and I´m not really sure how to fix it...
