Dark types not only nerfed Psychic types - They buffed the Fighting type.

How didn't Heracross count as a fighting type pokemon when it literally was a better fighting type than the ones we had from gen 1 to 2? It's overall limited coverage made it better than all fighting types with it's speed and depending on nature in gen 3 it was a beast to deal with if opponents didn't have flying coverage. Decent bulk, speed, and offensive threats made Heracross the best fighting type til gen 4 imo

Simple, ROCK/WATER. The only decent one we have is Barbaracle, but Barbaracle was known to be offensive.

one thing i think is really interesting is that gen9 is _extremely_ saturated with the dark type, which fighting types prey on. great tusk, valiant, and zamazenta aren't just incredible pokemon, they're also in a tier with kingambit, meowscarada, hisuian samurott, ting-lu, roaring moon, darkrai, and weavile, not to mention other food like kyurem. this isnt even a gamefreak buff, but rather meta shifts giving them a slew of things they match up against spectacularly. don't forget that fighting is also an extremely common tera blast type for coverage, especially on psychics like espathra pre-ban

Oof the disses against stall players 😭 Quite honestly, I really enjoy stall, because I like being able to wear big bad mons through unconventional means. I'm a PU/ZU player, and these formats allow for a lot more creativity than you'd see in other, faster-paced formats. For example, have you considered Infestation-Curse Dusclops? It definitely wouldn't work in other formats, but it's incredibly satisfying to pull off. Now your enemy is trapped there... Forever....... Totally helpless........... Mwahahahaha

Let's all take a moment to mourn for Aurorus. It's got good special bulk, great HP, and an ability that can chip damage opponents. Yet, it's stuck in the lowest tiers because it's Ice and Rock type, quadruple weak to both fighting and steel.

X and Y were released, online battling was possible for the first time and everyone was using mega blaziken or mega charizard. I led with a sturdy, shell smash, weakness policy carracosta. Those matches were always hilarious 😂😂 I had like a 95% win rate for the first week of release because of carracosta lol

If Tortuga wasn't introduced, it'd be, ironicaly, more remembered from being a "Cut Gen II pokémon Game Freak should bring back".

Oh I've been waiting for this one! I have great memories of tearing up OU with a weakness policy + sturdy Carracosta. What i would often do is send it in for an aquarium jet revenge kill and they'd send in something to deal with it. I'd shell smash and then get dropped to 1 because of sturdy and end up at +3 attack and +2 speed which hardly anything not named ferrothorn could deal with. The best situation was when they thought I was a defensive set so they'd send in a wall to toxic or something so then I'd get 2 shell smashes off and then I'd easily get like 3 kills with it 😂

I remember how annoyingly painful it was to breed Guard Swap onto my Carracosta. (I had to use like 3 different mons) But i used Shell Smash/Guard Swap to give my opponent my lowered defenses. Pretty fun strat

I loved it when Carracosta said "It's turtlin' time" and shellsmashed all over the meta
