I just bought the Zapp Plus but I’m unable to make a weld w/o the argon? Am I doing something wrong I tested it on the card provider it works just won’t make a weld
@stonesandfindings2 күн бұрын
This should be the case. You don't need argon gas to weld. Do you have a jump ring to test with? Have both ends touching. Then try it on higher than the power needed, which can compensate for shaky hands. Here is the power setting chart to go with: stonesandfindings.com/free-resources-page-pj-jewelry-making-information/optimal-power-setting-for-micro-welding/ If you bought the welder through us, I want you to email me and we can set up video or some way to communicate and I see what you're doing. Otherwise, try the above suggestion. If it doesn't work, simply contact your dealer. They should figure out what you're doing wrong. I am certain there is a very simple fix. Good luck Dana

When the actual production came out, they changed it to white. You can decorate yours to whatever you want. THey have decals with all sorts of prints, for the new mPulse, but you can cut it. Alternatively, you can find decal film at Michael's (or craft supply store). You can remove it and it won't damage your machine.

@stonesandfindings6 күн бұрын
You want to find reputable wholesalers like us, Stones and Findings. We lab test all of our supplies and are highly trusted. We guarantee our metallurgy. We are the largest wholesaler of gold filled chains in Canada and 3rd largest in North America. To see wholesale prices, you will need to register an account. stonesandfindings.com/my-account/ It will not ask you for your retail license because we ship all over the world and different countries have different requirements for tax. If you are in the USA, we cover all duties, taxes and clearance. Our turnaround time is extremely fast and perhaps best in the industry. We are better than most US local suppliers both in terms of price and service. I hope this helps. We look forward to doing business with you.

50/50 split = $3,000 rent for a few hours? oh heck no! You could rent a space and have it all month!
@stonesandfindings13 күн бұрын
This is absolutely true that it ends up being expensive rent. If you can rent the venue, you should. However, if there is a boutique that has a huge customer list that they're willing to throw an event and bring them all in, to help you launch your business and grow customer base quickly - and at no risk or marketing cost to you, it might be a very good business deal. Think of this - a customer of mine was able to do pop-ups at Anthropologie locations. $3k is nothing to have that kind of exposure. We have to weigh all of the factors. I've been in pop-ups at boutiques where they have it catered with drinks and appetizers. They took me to fine dinner along with their staff so they got to know me better and could sell my line better when I am not there. The dinner alone was over $700. I have no idea how much the catering cost. So, it really depends. THey're promoting my brand to everyone, including their staff.

@stonesandfindings13 күн бұрын
Hmmmm, aside from the quality of sleep the night before making a difference, I don't really have a good and accurate answer. I would advise that you make an effort to consistently start the same way each day and observe what's happening. Freshly sharpened electrode at the start each day, same size of jump ring, same hand motions to close it...and then compare. I wish I was there to see it. I would have a better idea. But yeah, I have good days and bad, even when I'm just filming!

@stonesandfindings16 күн бұрын
I actually close my eyes when I hear the warning click - that it is about to zapp. Not all welders have that function, but all Sunstone welders do. You can also use a smart phone or any old tablet to see from. It will protect your eyes from infrared radiation. Only thing is that that will compress the image and makes depth perception harder. However, I just look closely until I know where it is, look through the smart phone screen and then zapp.

I bought a necklace awhile back that looked like it was nice Hubei turquoise strung with pearls. One of the "turquoise" nuggets broke in transit, revealing it was clay inside. I think I spent $8 on it, & went into it knowing it was likely fake. But it looked like an exceptional fake, so took a chance. I ended up dismantling the necklace & selling the beads for more than I spent on it, despite being crystal clear about it being fake & showing photos of thw broken bead. Since then, I have run into one other batch of fake beads made with clay, but it doesn't happen often. Nice video, as much as I hate seeing the real pieces broken up.
@stonesandfindings16 күн бұрын
This is a great story to read and it's wonderful that you told people it was not real turquoise and they still valued it at more than your price. Yes, fakes have gotten better and better. It's ok that there is imitation stone out there, and they're beautiful, just let people know it's synthetic. It's better than mining it all out when we just enjoy the look. Thank you for this story,. Well, solid gold definitely requires more power than sterling silver and gold filled. Perhaps try 30w, and many more tack welds. I'm going to try that with other metals.

Hi, i'm considering getting one of these little welders for a project. What are the requirements of the shield plastic/ glass that I will need to buy. I've seen some sites online talk about uv protection being the only requirement. Do you know if that's right?
@stonesandfindings16 күн бұрын
It is infrared radiation. The auto dimming lense would be great. If you're not welding a lot, you can also look through a smart phone or tablet. It will protect your eyes. You lose depth perception looking through them, but it's a matter of getting used to it.

Hello! I love your videos:) Can I ask why it is not recommended to use stainless steel (316L)?
@stonesandfindings27 күн бұрын
It isn't recommended because a larger number of people are allergic to it. It contains nickel and also seen as a cheaper substitute for sterling silver - so it is seen as an inferior product. Unless it is very chunky, the difference in cost of Italian 925 silver to stainless steel is minimal. Silver would be approx US$2 - $2.80 for a 7" bracelet. You can charge more for it and easily make up the difference. Providing a superior product will help elevate your branding as well.
