Sounds nice, but if it can’t take regular photos as well, is useless. Also, I would love to see how it behaves in a not so perfect environment where there are obstacles and things in its way. Does it react to a flight? Does it just stop like a DJI drone? Does it almost impossible to finish the flight route or does it avoid, the obstacle and continue the mapping

@@rob-rk1tl the BLK2GO was designed to be used both indoors and outdoors. It is fantastic at rapid data collection and it would work great in a park environment, as long as identifiable features are presentalong the walked path.

Hi Mark! Thank you for your question. The Leica ScanStation P50 has a ranging accuracy of 1.2mm + 10 PPM over full range up to 270m, and 3mm + 10 PPM over full range of up to 1.17KM. The 8” angular accuracy will dictate the maximum scanning resolution the scanner can achieve at various distances.
@MarkJFeller-x1r18 күн бұрын
How is it accurate to 3mm at 1000m when it’s +/- 8” (39mm horizontally and vertically) and +/- 13mm at 1000m?

what battery you're using? we use two acid batteries which are giving us only about 1 hour of scanning sometimes it shut down before doing the last dynamic and stiatic to close the file
@R-E-A-L-iTАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment! For the Pegasus II Ultimate, it's recommended to use the Leica Battery Unit, which provides up to 9 hours of continuous operation. This should give you the extended scanning time you're looking for and prevent the issues you're experiencing with your current setup. We highly recommend replacing your current batteries with the Leica Battery Unit for improved performance and reliability. If you'd like assistance with the switch, we'd be happy to help! Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Warning! borrow one and trial it before buying. And test the importing and final usable quality of the output. I had the money to buy one and jobs lined up to pay it off in a couple of weeks. I borrowed one for a day and tried scanning a warehouse.......and didn't buy one and won't. I was completely embarrassed in front of the client as the unit crashed about every 3 minutes and had to be restarted. I then and had to go back with another point cloud scanner and redo the job for no cost (a gen 1 BLK360 which I've had for 6 years, slow and flakey but they do work). I wasted a whole day on site with the BLK2GO and didn't get a single usable scan out of the device, and it took 3 days to get the data out of it (a nightmare to get the data out of the thing) and only a couple of the scans were importable and were so bad in quality that they were never used. I've never been so excited about a bit of tech to be so badly let down to the point that there was nothing usable out of 4 hours of scanning.
@R-E-A-L-iT5 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear you had a negative experience with the wrong scanner for the job! Please reach out to use at [email protected] if you'd like to consult about how to avoid this in the future. Our goal is to never have a client face a situation like this! Each scanner has pros and cons in different situations. Sounds like the BLK2GO really wasn't the right choice for this setting -- and that this unit had some issues. That crashing shouldn't be happening.

what should be the typical pc requirements for this?
@R-E-A-L-iT6 ай бұрын
Hello! You don't actually need a particularly powerful computer to view and process point cloud data using software from Leica Geosystems. Point cloud data is optimized so that your computer will only load as much as it can handle at a time. Having a more powerful computer will speed up some automated processes, however. Having a more powerful computer, comparable to a high-end gaming computer, is recommended for best performance. We offer computer hardware consultation if your interested, plus full computer construction. We also rent hardware, depending on availability. For more information, you can email us at [email protected].

How many m2 can it scan during the 13 min flight and how high can it fly? Say i have a skyscraper - 250 m high.
@R-E-A-L-iT6 ай бұрын
The maximum capture speed is 5m/s (2m/s when the obstacles avoidance is active), depending on the desired density. This might represent 1350m2 (0.5pts/cm2) or 4100m2 (0.17pts/m2), but many environment factors can impact performance. The altitude limit for the drone is 1800m above sea level (asl), and as long as there is a good LTE network, there are no distance issues with the tablet (obviously there are legal restrictions on flying near buildings like this, and the device must be kept in sight).

Seems a lot more involved than some other scanners using slam or similar comparison based algs so movment of the scanner isn’t important to data tracking during and after scan. Is there a reason for this or something I missed? Like is this super crazy sub mm accurate or something

Hi Michael. Thanks for your comment. Indeed, the P50 can achieve point accuracies of 1.2mm and at long range can scan up to a kilometer in distance. It is one of the best terrestrial scanners on the market in terms of those specifications.
