Oh, that's awesome, Tracie! Brenda and I were surfing KZbin when she told me to look for The Sunshine Family. She told me that she and her cousin, Sherry, played with them all the time. So secretly, I went onto eBay and bought that bunch of stuff that you see on the video. You're watching her see it for the first time. I had set them up in our library room for when she got off of work and then opened the door for her. It was pretty funny... all of the stories... I'm sure you have a ton of your own memories. I'm glad that you enjoyed seeing the Sunshine Family again too. -Fred : )

This is a wonderful video! I'm positive I've seen it before having remembered your camcorder video and your commentary about Dixie Canyon School, the pilot scene being filmed on your street, etc., but was it here on You Tube? Now I'm a bit confused because I see there are no comments, making mine the first. Has it always been with no comments after eight years? Surely not! Please get back with me and we can talk some more if you'd like. I'm a huge BB show and house fan, and yes, the first time I landed in LA in 2011 this was the first place I wanted to visit and I did! Thanks!
@FredHerrman5 ай бұрын
That's great that you enjoyed the video, ReTrounderGround1. Yes, it is the same video that you probably saw quite a while ago. For a long time, I posted videos without comments because I had had a bad experience one time when I posted a video of then President Obama driving out from NBC, and people put all sorts of very inappropriate comments. KZbin didn't have as good monitoring devices back then. So recently, I went and undid the lock on some of those older videos. I also ended up reposting it with some of my Logo stuff, so that's why it's not showing as old as it was originally posted. Anyways, yes, I was a huge BB fan as well, as you can tell from my video. I think I mentioned in the video that I ended up meeting all of them, except for Sam the Butcher. I even met Sherwood Schwartz himself while my buddy and I were visiting Paramount Studios (the time I mentioned that I ran and down the stairs... I think they were making a Very Brady Christmas). I really appreciate you having watch the video. My narration skills were (and are still) terrible, so thank you for enduring that! Lol. -Fred : )

That sucked he didn't sing my song! Brown eyes baby
@FredHerrman10 ай бұрын
Hi Andrea, we actually went to see the show twice during his residency, and he substituted a lot of songs between differing performances. For instance, he didn't do, "Who Wouldn't Want To Be Me?" the first time we went, but he did the second time. And I spoke with some people in the pit who had been there three and four times, and they said that he switches songs all the time. So chances are that he did perform "Brown Eyes Baby" during a few of those performances. Just not that last night that I video'd. If you haven't seen him live, you definitely want to. It was probably the best live performance I've ever been to. And as I said in my video notes, I have seen literally hundreds of band performances during my lifetime. Thank you for watching the video. -Fred : )

Hi Scott. Yes, I was definitely glad to have been working out that day and that hour when they decided to do this photo. They basically swept everyone out from the gym at got them outside. That's what I mean; at any point on the day, there were a lot of serious bodybuilders there. I don't recall if Vince's Gym had closed yet, but this Gold's Gym was pretty much the only serious free-weight gym that I knew of in the Valley back then. There were Sports Connection on Sepulveda and some others, but they weren't the serious gyms that Gold's was. Thank you for watching the video. -Fred : )

@FredHerrman Жыл бұрын
I remember Muscle and Fitness, and I saw his Weider Building in Woodland Hills one time. I was walking down the step from it when Tom Platz was walking up past me to the front doors. He was wearing a fitted suit, and his legs looked like they were going to rip through his pants. That's too bad that Joe and Ben didn't invest more back into the industry. Maybe they saw it as an opportunity that might be fleeting. So perhaps even they underestimated how lasting bodybuilding would be. But that's too bad to hear about his company being a so hard on their advertising clients. Thank you for watching the video. -Fred : )

You bet, Steve! Yeah, this was kind of a moment in time when this Gold's Gym, an alternative to the one in Venice, existed and allowed for 24/7 workouts. It was kind of a hideaway for those big body builders who didn't want to work out in the circus that was the Venice location. Many of them lived in the San Fernando Valley anyways, so it made for an easy and somewhat private (from fans) workout at anytime. Thank you for watching. -Fred : )

Hi The Ripper, thank you for your comments about the Reseda Gold's Gym video that I did. I really appreciate it. Those years were really special for me because I found solitude and serenity in working out at night at that gym. It was kind of out of the way and one could just focus on one's workout uninterrupted. Since you were an employee at the Power Source, you must have known my friend Robert who helped run the gym in it's later years. He is a good friend of mine (who is featured in the Reseda Golds Gym video that you watched), and he really liked helping manage the Power Source.
