Yes, Apple has increasingly focused on providing services that utilize data stored locally on the device, such as the address book, location data, and other personal information, rather than relying solely on network-based services. This approach emphasizes privacy and security by keeping sensitive data on the device whenever possible, minimizing the need for constant communication with external servers. ChatGPT verified OmniPort is a better name for this than a phone. On a phone you press a button and it happens. Zero intelligence

Not a locate button but a locate ringer. You can call a call center and they would ping the phone. Back in 1999 we used to think network should do things like location or address book. Then apple made it user centric

Smartphones seem to have the edge in many non profit cases. I think you should write a story on them being non capitalistic. -- Smartphones may have less solely profit-driven functions compared to cars.

Japan is often characterized as having a conformist and collective culture, where social harmony and group cohesion are highly valued. Individuals are expected to prioritize the needs of the group over their own desires. In contrast, the United States tends to emphasize individualism and the celebration of personal achievement. Americans often value independence, individual rights, and the pursuit of one's own goals, even if they challenge established norms or authority. These are broad generalizations, of course, and both countries contain diverse populations with varying degrees of adherence to these cultural tendencies.

I guess that Lavanya has looked at USA. A different norm is there in Japan. They prefer equal outcome and conformity. Maybe USA is more individualistic and Japan collectivists. -- Yes, there is a Japanese saying, "出る釘は打たれる" (deru kugi wa utareru), which translates to "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." It implies the cultural value of conformity and humility, where individuals who deviate from societal norms or draw attention to themselves may face criticism or pressure to conform.

The alternative for Meritocracy is equal outcome. Let's say you have 4 years in IIT. At the end of it everyone should be same. You can do anything you want in those 4 years.

On circle book (not movie where she engineers a hack into the corporate) Yes, you are correct. In the book, Mae ultimately embraces the ideology of The Circle company and its vision of transparency and interconnectedness. However, whether this acceptance leads to a utopian outcome for Mae or for society as a whole is open to interpretation and subject to the reader's perspective.

This Analog Virtual is dystopic unlike the anti Dystopia Muggle-Mudblood of Rowling. I actually pictured myself as a faculty at Hogwarts like Snape or Hagrid. I am good that Voldemort lost otherwise yet another Dystopia. The only Dystopian thing was Dumbledore getting killed.

The horse character in Animal Farm is named Boxer. He is known for his incredible strength and unwavering loyalty to the principles of Animalism, which are essentially the beliefs of the farm animals striving for equality and freedom from human oppression. Boxer values hard work, dedication, and loyalty to the cause of Animalism, often expressing his motto, "I will work harder," as a testament to his commitment. He believes in the principles of Animalism wholeheartedly and works tirelessly to support and defend them, even at great personal cost.

I have actually spoke to a HR at paypal and she assured me these grading should be taken with a punch of salt. --- The idiom "pinch of salt" means to take something with a degree of skepticism or doubt, to not fully believe or trust it without questioning. It suggests that one should be cautious and not take something too seriously or literally, as it may not be entirely accurate or reliable.

Why HR? I took some PG courses that grade on a curve. In IIM MBA and IIT the professors often crib about RG or relative grading. The premise of your novel is people graded higher will get acess to more resources. They will be virtual and the rest Analogs. This is often projected in India for Civil services too. Brave New World was even better. Instead of the curve actually make them into resource specific clients in the womb. They come out as babies with some babies liking Carnatic and others Rap. There is no curve. There are no tests. The entrance tests in your Novel serve as Analog vs Digital. In snakes in the ganga the snake side claims everyone should get the same outcome and system should be engineered for same. That is more like Giver. The most supreme thing is sameness.
