My model is the reel yaks 9.5 feet modular kayak. If you have storage space and the vehicle for a bigger kayak then get one!

if you haven't realized by now, most people aren't gonna tell you where they launched from or fished.... don't know why, I guess it's that sacred "don't tell where you were" thing. oh well, you just gotta learn the delta and try and take note of the surroundings. they might tell you where they launched from, maybe not. But that's as much as you'll get from them. I never had a problem telling anyone where I fish and where I CAUGHT. but that's just me.

I launched out of new hope marina next to wimpy up in the north delta. Good place to launch, not too busy like some of the other bigger marinas.

When I’m onto to the fish and I start to focus, I forget to talk sometimes haha. But believe me I got a lot of love for the delta and that is why I fish this place 99% of the time.

It’s my first time owning a modular kayak and it works pretty good so far! It gets the job done for what it’s worth so no complaints.

@kimourchi7382 yes I have used my modular kayak in 2-3 feet roller waves with winds up to 20mph(30MPH gusts). I do not recommend taking this kayak out in those conditions due to its smaller size. Optimal conditions to use this kayak safely is 1-15 mph wind with 10-20 mph gusts. Any higher wind and gust than that and you’re putting yourself at risk to capsize.

It’s possible on the right tides and time of day. Weekdays are better, weekends are more challenging for bank fishing on the delta.

Yes there is! try hitting up the docks for some summer bass. Great cover for them to take shelter from the sunlight.

If you can afford it and have the space to store it definitely get the bigger sizes kayak. This one is just fun for smaller waters and mild weather!

Stability is somewhat stable but I wouldn’t stand in it and fish. The kayak itself is durable and it handles against the wind well. Fishing from a kayak is completely different than fishing from the bank or on a boat. Shorter rods are better and learning how to maneuver the kayak to get better casting angles is crucial to getting bites. It takes time and practice but once you get the hang of it, kayak fishing is extremely fun!

I have this yak after watching your first video . Been out twice. Legs get a but tired and maneuvering the yak in just small bits its a little challenging considering it takes quite a few peddles to turn and wide turns Found myself using half a paddle to keep me straight. Hopefully, practice with my anchor will help. Minn kota hook up by monday. Thinkin ill upload a video. Nice fishin man!

@@alhenry92 it’s not much like a native watercraft or old town but hey it gets the job done! One advice I can give you is do not go out kayaking with this kayak if the wind is 15 MPH and up with 20 plus mph gust. It does not handle heavy wind to well.

I’m pretty sure Texas has some monster sizes as well! Usually in lakes or reservoirs they spawn a bit deeper and live on bottom structure such as rock piles, brush piles, etc

I’m in California River redears don’t get as big as their lake relatives so catching 1 pound plus is consider a trophy size here on the delta

Central delta but they’re everywhere. Look for hard bottom and you’ll find colonies of sunfish. After they’re done spawning, look for them in deeper water with weed clumps or weed lines.

Im using a phenix feather medium action casting rod but I swapped out from braid to mono and it made a difference for me in hookup percentage.
