So IMG try and schmooze some rich Americans to get them to invest in RL to boost the sport. If they do due diligence they will uncover the disgusting way David Hughes was treated, having invested thirty million pound over twenty seven years without virtually and outside support. To have his team relegated before season 2024 even started. Not a good look and it will not encourage outside investment.

I didn't get into rugby league until 2017 and loved it when I found out that it existed through my sister's boyfriend at the time was a saints fan. I loved that it was in the summer and it was more working man than union. I also loved the grubber kicks and fancy tries. I watch it on sky now TV on my phone and tablet. It costs 30 pounds a month and I get to watch other sports too. Great pod lads

You can't compare two games a week to six games a week, clearly showing two top games instead of all will be higher average, the loop fixtures need to go

I would really like the guy with the hair to start providing figures (genuine rather than made up) and outline the detail of the promises made by the IMG contract... rather than the emotive buff and bluster

The clubs have had the power for 30 yrs and the game has been in decline. We need to trust the process of IMG that will take time. They’ve already raised the floor in my opinion. I don’t get the argument to scrap the cap when only half the teams spent it? Surely that will just drag the top further from the bottom. Yes only four teams have won it but pre salary cap for a long time it was dominated by one team with the most money. In general, more money on the pitch means better results. Wigan spending huge money on 3 players out of cap has been hard to compete with as it is. I’d introduce a scoring system in the IMG formula to be docked points for underutilisation of the cap to a certain point.

What happened to positive rugby league boys? Thought you might have discussed the fantastic internationals we’ve just had in both hemispheres, and the upcoming ashes next year. The international game certainly seems on the up but all you did was moan about league structures.

Comparing NRL and RFL isn't fair because the NRL doesn't do P&R. IMO, RFL's problem is player depth. The RFL could invest in a mid-season caltic cup 🇮🇪🏴🏴 with a yearly Baskerville Shield🏴🇳🇿 series. The winner of the Caltic Cup plays 🏴 knights during SL play-offs like a PM'S 🇦🇺🇵🇬 and origin to build depth for SL, championship & League one.

Super League actually is 2nd best compared to the NRL. The Aussies are at another level. Hopefully the the ref keeps his whistle in his pocket and just let the boys play. KR for an upset in a tight one...
@JRPete27 күн бұрын
True, but to be fair, SL has a system that encourages expansion on merit. London broncos is an example with a couple of southern players in the team. Melbourne Storm can't get a couple of Victorians in the team like London did.

Also lads the Aussies disrespecting super league again with Penrith pulling out of the world club challenge even if KR win and people think it's a good idea for the NRL to buy super league. In my opinion bad idea as we'd always be second best

As a Hull fan here’s my opinion on next seasons signing John Asiata: We’re lacking a proper 13 that can ball play and play the rough and tough rugby that’s gonna be required. So because of that I’m happy with the signing. 8/10 Zak Hardaker: I’m very sceptical but I think if he gets his head down and he can be a good player to play on the inside of Martin to help him out as he’s developing. 6.5/10 Oliver Holmes: Steady head that’ll go under the radar but brings a wealth of experience that’ll hopefully help bring through Nick Staveley. He’s also a good player in his own right. 7/10 Ed Chamberlain: Perfect squad player, he covers the wing, centre and back row. If he’s a starting centre next year I’ll be disappointed however. 8/10 Amir Bourouh: If we go Amir starting with Balmforth of the bench next year I think it can be a good combination. Their styles (from what I’ve seen) should complement each other. 7.5/10 Cade Cust: I have no idea on Cust. The talk is he’s been brought in to be a back up for 6, 7 and 9 but I can’t see that being true. It’s a really confusing one given he’s also taking up a quota spot. (Does this mean Trueman is going??) 4/10 Jordan Abdull: Should have never let him go! We’ve been crying out for that general type player since Sneyd left (which also shouldn’t have happened). I think Jack Charles is probably a year or so off being ready for SL so it makes perfect sense. 10/10 Tristan Sailor (Rumoured): Honestly I’d rather just stick with Moy and spend the cap and quota space on a new centre/winger. However if he’s as good as he’s supposed to be (which given saints are also after him he might just be) it might be worth bringing him in for 2 years and giving Moy that back up role. I’d have gone with Moy. 6.5/10 ------------------------- Overall view, is I think the players themself are the right kind of profile we need but I worry that the majority of them have struggled with injures recently. The age isn’t a concern as we are severely lacking any real leaders
