My Kurt’s polish never applies like this. It’s dries and gets tough to remove almost immediately after application. Do you warm up the wax or keep it at a certain temperature to maintain the wetness?

Kurt!!! May you please clarify, did you say you sprayed two mists of solution twice per day for this job of 8days? If so, What times about apart were the spray applications?! Thank you again for another great video! I have a similar style of Pokemon from 2006ish so I’m gonna attempt to use your strategy for this Charizard

@@GUITARooSLuGG39 yes, good question. Typically 12 hours apart. I like to wait for the mats to be dry and the card to not be damp before I start a new cycle. This material was different than the older Pokémon so I was very conservative.

@@kurtscardcare yea honestly this is perfect timing because I noticed the material is different too. Though I am being less conservative on the spray. I’ll report the results. Also if you can figure out any methods that can rebound dents or slight creases on holographic portions I would love to see that. I’ll report if I can either because unfortunately it seems much less fixable than the paper areas just due to the nature of holo foil material.

@@rscabbage it’s dry, and I just posted the video. I never really got it wet just lightly damp because if you get it too wet, it will get a weird texture. Take a look it looks pretty good.

When you come Across Pokemon cards with a little extra cardboard at the corners, how do you deal with that?

@@kengriffith1873 I assume I would just leave it as is, I have a few Pokémon cards that look like they have little shoulders after the curved corner but I assume it’s just how it was cut so I haven’t done anything. If it’s something different, fill me in. ✌🏼

I just pulled a silver prizm jayden Daniels and it has a slight bend on the very tip of the corner in the back side of the card. You think this method could help? From the front of the card it looks perfect until you hold the back of it to light you can seen the slight bend

@@rrrriiiccchhh it’s a good method to try. I’ll tell you though, corners on Prizm are difficult. They’re so rigid mainly plastic. If you’re on Instagram, you’re always welcome to send me a picture but this method that I’m showing right here is definitely worth a shot.

Ok tested methods on recent english non holo cards: - magic eraser - destroys it - WD40 - destroys it - Silicon spay - not working - water soap - destroys it - whater viniger - different results for different pens, wouldnt recomend it - glasses cleaning cloth - doesnt work - alcohol - destroys it - depdorant - no What i have found is using a mild parfume to spay a nose whipe. Also put seliver or water on different part of the whipe. Quickly whipe over stain with parfume, and imediately follow up with seliver/water soaked part. You have to be really quick, otherwise card gets damaged.

@@Looch1717 sometimes, all those streaks look the same and sometimes they are streaks of residual stuff versus scratches and whatever it is wipes away. But I would say let’s the minority of times. Most of those streaks across Cards seem to scratch the front or back and are more permanent.
I just bought a multi-thousand dollar vintage card that could go up in value if the surface is cleaned successfully. I also bought another cheap card from the set to "practice" various cleaning methods on first. Do you think I would have better luck with a citrus based cleaning fluid or perhaps just a dab of rubbing alcohol?

Hey Kurt so I recently soaked a 2017 optic card and now the corner is splitting what’s the best solution to get it back together?

@@Jellysportshaus good question. Is that the only one that you have had that issue with? That’s always my biggest concern is something peeling apart, but hold it between the pads because it may come back together. One time I soaked a card for almost a day to see how long it would take to split as a test. After it started to split I dried it like normal and it came back to the original shape. Make sure you test on a base card from every new year that you work on a card. Sometimes they act a little different. I just don’t want you to mess anything up. 🤙🏼

There was a finger nail indention I wanted to remove and that came out but now the corner is splitting a little but, got it in between the plates for now but will monitor it over the next couple days. @ no, never once. But I don’t alter them. I just clean them and do stuff like this. I make them look back to the original condition by taking the time to get them in the original condition. I would never cut a card or color a card or do anything bush league

How would you go about conditioning a card with jagged edges? I have a 1999 Topps Chrome Gold refractor that I want to grade but the edges are all jagged

I'm not sure, good question. If the plastic is jagged cut, I don't think there are too many options. But if it's fuzzy paper, you can usually remove the fuzz using painter's tape. If you want, you can shoot me a picture on Instagram. I can take a look for you

@@Wargasm509 let me thank you for catching that. I did some updates a couple weeks ago and I must’ve screwed that up. Because WOTC is cool. Let me share with you what I’m trying to say. Do not use polish on Pokemon *Stary Holo surfaces *Pokemon 151 Reverse MasterBall Holo Variants *Awakening legends Shining Be cautious and test. Polish a base card before working on anything with a third layer of holographic accents, such as repeating patterns and extra embellishments like the cards above. Sometimes those things can be removed, and I don’t want you to make any mistakes.

I finished setting up my work station tho now and put aside some Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards that I don't mind messing up like you said for testing. A vileplume with a mighty scratch on the holo 😅 and my old dark magician Yugi card that has a corner crease amongst other things like card grime? (Like black dots). If anything, I was wondering where you got your glass slabs? I'm working on a flat kinda marker board with your black mat on top but would love a circular glass plate like you have too

@@chomsyk1270 great question, this is my card spray. It’s a blend I make for cleaning cards and doing stuff like this. I know it looks like plain water so it can be a little confusing. Water will leave a weird texture and bring on mold. Just don’t do that.
