What would it be if the wheels/motor randomly start moving fast when the throttle isn't being moved! If I move the wires that are by the handlebars or if I push the power button off it of course goes off and stops.
@TravelScootUSA7 күн бұрын
It would most likely be the throttle if moving the wire stops it.

it can work great off-road, but i would NEVER take mine onto gravel like they are showing here. you hit one patch that is too deep, and you will get stuck and unable to move. The ground needs to be hard. Even then, its NOT comfortable. theres no shocks of any kind, so you feel every rock and pebble. And anything you are carrying in your basket WILL bounce out, unless it is secured or strapped in. Trying to go top speed (or even half speed) while going over rocks and pebbles is a nightmare in this thing. I've considered improving mine with a second motor and some bigger wheels, specifically because i live in the Southwest and run into this problem OFTEN, but i dont have the expertise to do the electrical work. All of that said - I do not regret my purchase. I have a TravelScoot Deluxe (so its a few years older) and it is the 2nd Travelscoot my family has purchased. My grandfather had one of the very first models available, and we've loved them. I look forward to when I can upgrade to a newer one.

I'd like to see a schematic that would allow people to rebuild these hubs, i.e replace the bearings and (plastic) planetary gears. Currently the only spare part even listed apart from the tyre (and this only on the US website) is for one of the motor bearings. I have a Deluxe, I've worked on bikes, cars and bicycles all my life and it would be a trivial undertaking IF a such a schematic were available, better still an actual workshop manual.

That was actually the opposite of a test, let alone a 'torture' test, for a battery. A flat paved path at constant velocity. With that criteria the only load on the battery would be to power the motor to overcome friction and air resistance, both of which would have placed minimal load on the motor. A real torture test would involve acceleration. This is just marketing not engineering.

I really wish the 2024 model hadn't changed. The wheelbase no longer folds together. It's one rigid frame which is even a bit shorter. The caddy has no depth and drags on the ground if anything is placed in it. I just bought the new one in the UK and it's a lot of fun but I'm disappointed with that change.

How easy is it to pull the folded travel scooter along? Is it light and easy to pull
@etheriaparrott4 ай бұрын
It doesn't really have a way to pull it along like others I've seen. You would have to hold it by the front wheel. There isn't anything that's like a handle.

Should be borne in mind that this was pretty much non-stop - accelerating from a standstill pulls a lot of current, so range in stop/start urban use is _much_ lower than achieved here. I have a Deluxe, bought July 2019 (the 274Wh battery is dated Oct 2018), so almost exactly 5 years of use. It now gives about 5-6 miles non-stop (as in this demo) but barely 3-4 miles over several short urban outings. Unfortunately replacement batteries are extortionately expensive (about twice what you would pay for similar ones in other applications). ETA >> All that said, these are excellent machines, very well-built and durable, and they are not only light but very compact and can literally 'turn on a dime' (steering to the right or clockwise so the drive wheel is on the outside of the turn) - they can be ridden into and around venues that most scooters simply can't.
