I love The Warning, but I wouldn't consider them anywhere close to metal outside of a few songs, and even those are much closer to hard rock than anything metal.

I loooooooooooooove every second here more than hours of any other singer. It's said! I think the video: "Chappers xmas kemper competition", hosted on Diederick cock's channel should have been in this anthology. And even though they shouldn't be here because no video exists, I think it's worth mentioning in a comment the awesome songs Zora did with Magoria: "Day by Day" and "Legend of the Serial Killer Scene".

That Seven Spires song tho. Power Metal is not my "thing", but Adrienne Cowen has the best voice in the business and they really deserve a lot more attention not only because of her, but because the whole band is insanely talented at what they do. There's also a band from Lithuania who dropped a video in April. They are called Black Spikes and if you like dark imagery and progressive metal, check them out. Absolutely criminal that they haven't blown up yet.

Adrienne has the ability to go from deep gutteral, visceral growls, to goblin screams, to disney princess, and then quickly follow up by vocally matching the entirety of a guitar solo (see Almosttown) over the course of maybe two lines. The woman is astounding, and has a killer band to back her up.

I always thought there was a big 4 of female metal: Nightwish, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil and Epica. But I think these bands have their best years behind them... The only one that still maintains a high level is Epica. As for new bands, definitely Blackbriar, Ad Infinitum, Spiritbox...
