Mark, I like where your intentions are with this message, but I do question the claim that Christianity is necessarily a religion. Historically, it's not. It was called the "Way", meaning it is a way of life. And in modern humanities scholarship there is a great deal of dialogue on disentangling concepts and conceptions of "religion" as such. I am working my way through a PhD (which in itself is not important) and I happen to be studying a fair bit about these ideas currently. I would love to talk with you and learn more about how you came to your conclusions. Otherwise, thanks and keep up the great work. I value your channel a lot.

Everyday, my mind goes in different directions. I bring a lot of stress home with me daily and I struggle trying to focus on one thing at a time, or I’m focusing on the negative thing that happened or I’m struggling to stay positive as if no matter how much I want to please Him, I’m not. As someone who wants to repent and live the way God wants me to live, everything I do is not enough. I do smoke marijuana daily. (About half a joint a day) Sometimes it makes me paranoid, but most of the time, it calms me down and allows me to focus. I even feel closer to God. I wonder sometimes how this can be a bad thing.

Even one glass of wine is more dangerous then a bowl of weed don't get it twisted enjoying your nice glass w dinner is still intoxicating your body and you are less safe to drive and you're gonna hear a whole bunch of people tell you that 1 puff a week or month enhances their relationship w God and allows them to enter into deep worship which is actually idol worship if it takes plant thc to make you feel the euphoria of God it ain't the holy spirit. Weed is extremely deceptive.

Being a Christian is NOT a religion. Salvation is NOT based on one's performance. Religion is MAN MADE and ALWAYS "performance based" and has everything to do with trying to gain God's acceptance which can NEVER be achieved. In the Old testament, the "religious practices" set forth under the Mosaic Law were specifically designed to result in failure and to point to the Christ who is the ONLY ONE who could fulfill all of the Mosaic Law and the Prophets. A Christian's relationship with God is not based on what we do; rather, it is based on what Christ did. In response to that gift, we are compelled to do things out of gratitude, appreciation, and love. Religion is an act of futility that goes nowhere, and as such, I think it is wrong to label Christianity as "a religion." I know too many people who claimed to be Christians; however, their misunderstanding of the Gospel and their compulsion to "be religious" actually revealed their unborn status. Eventually they grew tired of going through "religious routines" and turned away from the Salvation they were so close to securing, all because they were NEVER transformed by God's Spirit and were NEVER Born Again but instead were being "religious."

So, the type of "service" that we see in this current world, is one that has been coiffed to allow avarice, greed, and not deal with the seriousness of sin. Not to serve hearts and souls properly. Remember God judges our hearts, it is what is inside of us, our whole wellbeing that is examined. Will we be found clean, have honesty and righteous hearts, or have we failed the calling of God to please Him?! Which could then make us acceptable to Him, and therefore be adopted and saved. Naturally that includes many obediences if one values God's grace and His provision. Better that, than to be judged.

Being drunk is not a sin it’s what you do when you’re drunk that makes you sick. You don’t need to be drunk to sit. You could send without getting drunk, same as weed.

If there's so much apostasy today then one reason is because too many traditional churches did not implement certain obediences like loving their fellow men but only seeing certain churchy conventions as important, or as enough. Secondly, they did not become "on fire" for Christ, they did not want the Holy Spirit, the gifts, the healing miracles, and prophecy. They could at least prophesy! But some pastors wanted the security found in this world. A middle class life. They are disingenuous in their relationships as a result. They are a shallow veneer, preach one thing do another. Church became a sham with no love in it. Thirdly, the entertainments in this world have caught the ear and attention of millions of people, where they do not see the saving of their soul as important and absolutely needful. And the worldly powers that be, in media, films, etc has exploited that! Films about Oral Roberts, Smith Wigglesworth, John G Lake, and many others, are not made. When they should have been. There have been thousands of miracles, but people don't want to live up to the responsibility of knowing about them. They don't celebrate with God and His works, his glory. The great things about God have not been reported, but hidden away. Instead, christians have been told to endure and put up with things like the LGBTQ movement, extremist Islam, etc etc etc. Things that we are told we cannot evangelise against, these edifices of lies. But that is to nullify christianity. To not be able to tell people that they are not pleasing God. Or are bringing judgement and curses on themselves. This has happened because politicians want to suppress interests in the real social issues affecting millions, regarding poverty, inequality , and the loss of quality of life. The Lord God wants to be acknowledged. He wants people to know him not just about him. And things are not just given automatically, we have to ask! In asking you are believing. And then you can work with God, and have the desired relationship with God. One must be kept clean, and away, from the corruptions of this world. Holiness is desired. But not dictatorial artifice and smuggery of powerless empty "churchianity". Little boys pretending to be vicars. To be a real Christian you would have thousands of enemies, millions! And the same message to them all is repent! Do what pleases God. Or watch out !

I think "not a religion, but a relationship" is a slogan is meant primarily to awaken non-believers to the possibility that something more vital, personal and intimate is available than what is typically perceived as religious observance in the West. However, when it understood as the whole truth rather than a hint what is supernaturally possible, it might weaken rather than strengthens a person's walk with God. We would do well to hold out the cost of discipleship as well as its rewards and to make sure we ourselves are examples of having entered into fellowship with God through a new and living way _and_ holding firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering (see Hebrews 10:19-25). The latter could be seen as dead religion if not combined with the first.

Almost all modern day "churches" are anathema to our Creator. Pulpits, altars, costly buildings and administrations are ALL anti-Biblical. The temple was destroyed in AD 70 for a very important reason. Biblical assemblies were nothing like what we see today. Please do your research and help believers find the "one-anothership" of the new covenant Scriptures and escape the judgement coming on today's Laodicean church.

Overall, we all should get closer to Christ. No human can tell us directly, exactly what we need each day (unless given by God) the way that only God can. The closer you are, the more He will prompt you as you go on whether you should or shouldn't do something, but we have to be able to listen and obey. I pray that everyone here is able to get close as I do for myself. My two cents: I partislly agree with this guy. If you use soley to get high and purposefully be unproductive, that is an issue. Not just for God, but because you also are potentially holding yourself back from where you could be in life (if you aren't in a good place now). I personally had to cut back (working on giving it over completely to God) because God prompted me and has been dealing with me about this and my other vices. You have to seek God for yourself and find out what He wants for you. I hope everyone is well!

They can, but God doesn't like it very much. Here's why he doesn't want us smoking it: when you smoke weed and take hallucinates, what happens is it opens up your mind allows you to understand things at a different time. Like when you get high, you start to think about it, and then you're like "oh! Now I get it" and then God says "see, you wasn't supposed to know that now. You wasn't supposed to know that for 20 more years". God has a plan that to which each of us is connected to, that is planned out right to the nanosecond.

Most of you don't observe the Sabbath or the Passover correctly anyway so it doesn't matter how much U praise and worship and be sober. You're not going to heaven anyway
@davidwhitaker22115 күн бұрын
What do you mean by that? Christ understands that Gentiles didn't (and couldn't) participate in the Feasts and traditions in His day. He would like us to, but he understands that not everybody does. Salvation is about if we put our trust and faith in Christ, His sacrifice to us, and His Resurrection. Even Jesus spent a portion of His ministry reframing how the religious leaders thought of and practiced the Sabbath. Would it be easier to say "Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and obey his teachings, or Observe the Sabbath to the fullest extent of the commandments?" ; I'd like to know what you think...

I felt this peace when a group of us were held up by armed robbers in a restaurant. Everyone dove under the tables but my first thought was to kneel before a chair and pray. When i did go under the table, i was able to calm others. We had an impromptu church service afterwards, in French and English.
