Nice to see a bag that actually looks like its been used , not like other KZbinrs that look like they just bought a bag yesterday

You didn’t mention but I assume it’s a solo trip. I’m curious what it’s like for you with this bag to travel with a partner or even children (if you had any experience in these situations)? I bought this bag not for plane travels (yet) but for weekend trips with my husband and toddler where we either drive or take public transit, and I really need to free all of our hands so I can grab my son easily when he runs off 😂.

This particular trip was one with just me and my wife. We both own these bags! It was perfect. It would be a challenge to pack for a small child as well.

I own the same sized travel bag in green, spacious design, I use the sling bag from tomtoc for my fold 5z, wallet and passport. Sturdy construction, a bit pricey but you get a quality travel bag. Fits underneath the seat in front of me and in overhead bin, I've never been asked to check nor place it in sizing guide/restriction frame you'd find in front of the check in desk.

It’s been changed a few years ago, no more interior pocket, but main zip is wider.
@aenera655525 күн бұрын
Interesting, according to their website the 42 has the same height as the 35, but it's 6cm wider and a few cm deeper. But yours is taller and that's the same I've seen from anyone who's had both... On the note of depth, I thought the depth was like 26cm or so but when this is packed it looks waaaaayy bigger?

The fjallraven bag you got is made out of a weird natural material, unlike their usual tough vinylon, so it starts biodegrading on you fast. Had the backpack version of it and it started shedding like snakeskin. The material left wasn’t terrible but it did stretch when a hole poked into it. I wouldn’t recommend their “tree” stuff over the normal kanken vinylon, even the g-1000 wears slower than trees

wondering what is better the 42l or 35. going away for 6 week and backpacking in Thailand but I am not sure if better to have a little extra space or actually I don't need that big of a bag as its not very convenient?
@tikitumz22 күн бұрын
Like you, I'm doing a 6 week trip next month (Thailand included) and had this same debate. I eventually settled on the 35L Allpa to make travel easier. Just got it today (love the colour way!) and can't wait to use it. I already own a 55L backpack but I find more space = more weight, which in SE Asia, lugging that in humidity is just NOT the go. I also want to travel carry on only for flights plus have the freedom the mobility allows (eg catching a motorbike/scooter grab for transport or when you need to stow it away on buses/trains etc).

interesting review but I personally prefer batteries powered rather than rechargable. Rechargables have limited life and often have charging issue way before the device is breaking. I trust batteries powered more.

This is amazing, just what I needed!! Thanks :) FYI, the Foodville and the Subminimal have the points of the Zulay, so if someone was just hovering over the points, they might miss the point. And the timers on the description are not super accurate for the Foodville.

That Fjallraven bag you bought is first and foremost designed to be an add-on external pocket for their Tree-Kånken backpack, and a crossbody bag second. You probably would have found one of their dedicated hip packs or sling bags much more comfortable and better designed. Having said that, their simplistic design ethos is not for everyone. I have a number of their bags and yes, the lack of pockets and organisational features can be a bit frustrating. However their Kanken backpack has become one of my favourite backpacks ever BECAUSE it is so minimal and simple, so I guess it's a mindset thing. Good video, thanks for sharing :-)

I recently picked the 35, older version, but it seems the interior buckle straps were already dropped. I do appreciate they included a waterproof cover since the zippers aren't watertight. I used the bag this past weekend for 4 days and it was more bag than I needed but I loved the functionality...!

Hey! Cotopaxi founder here. I'm a little late to the party here, but I loved the video and side-by-side review! I'm with you on how sad it is to lose the external access zipper to the main compartment - an unfortunate and necessary victim to the much-needed waterbottle pocket. My favorite addition might be that small external pocket on the front of the bag, that you also loved. I thought I'd add a couple small comments ... the handle you reference when using the bag as a duffle also doubles as a sleeve you can use to attach your Allpa onto a roller bag handle, which is an awesome feature if you're traveling with a roller bag. Additionally, we fixed my biggest pet peeve with the Allpa - I found that the old shoulder straps used to slide off my shoulders if I didn't buckle the sternum strap because the material was a little too smooth. The new shoulder strap material eliminates this problem. Thanks again for the amazing review! I'm glad you love the bag as much as I do!

Sometimes the question is how long will it last? I had cheap speaker break on me after 1 ish year, it stopped charging, and I could never fix it even after watching some trouble shooting tutorials, so I got rid of it and ended up getting another speaker…

My favorite is the 2L lululumon belt bag and I hate saying that too 😂 because i don't even like the brand. But it has all the features of the 1L and a bit extra. It does have a double zipper, elastic straps instead of a buckle (although still a bit if a pain to readjust), and it fits my noise cancelling headphones and e-reader. What I also like about the placement of the clip buckle is that it's safer. If it's placed more towards your back, people can come up from behind you and unclip it without you noticing.

This is a great video and really helpful. Recently bough the 42 for an upcoming trip because I’m packing for me and my son. Was curious if I’d be able to use the 42 as a carry one and thought I should go get the 35. Based on your input I’ll keep the 42. Thank you so much.

I own 3 fjallraven kanken backpacks. Its a specific style for those who enjoy its use case. The material is insanely durable. Definitely not for everybody but at 5'2" I have a hard time finding packs that fit all my stuff, are comfortable on my small frame and don't swallow me whole. Fjallraven kankens FTW! P.s. I had my first kanken for 5 years and used it everyday. Still looks new.

I am on a hunt for a sling/hip bag combo. I love cotopaxi and have a couple of their 3L versions. Their Allpa line has awesome organization and comes in a few sizes. All of these you are reviewing are a little small for what I need (including my phone and wallet, it also needs to fit my Kobo ereader, a small first aid kit, and aranet 4 co2 sensor, epi pen and other small items). It's not a lot of stuff but it's bulky, so it can wear funny depending on the type of bag. Having organizational pockets is important. Thanks for this funny, but informative video!
