The problem is the rise of oxalates in spinich, sweet potatoes, almonds etc. Oxalates are toxic and held in the body. Look up Sally Norton's work.

How ridiculous is this nonsense the reason people are worried about taking hormones is because then your body stops producing them naturally when you can fix so many issues as people in my family did with eating healthy and exercising whereas if they had taken hormones they would have depended on them to live

I agree with everything she said except 4 reps on your compound movement’s invites injury. 8 at the lowest to 15 reps is optimal for building muscle

I was over 180kg in 2021. I was 170 kg in November 2023. I had sleeve bariatric surgery February this year when I was around 150kg. today I'm 95kg and I feel that I have reclaimed my life. sheesh. it is quite a ride, it's not easy but if you read my comment and consider a bariatric surgery then don't hasitate. my whole life since I was 16 years old was fighting with beeing overweight and obese later. loosing and gaining kilograms every year. endless looking for new diets, break downs, going back to shitty eating habits. it was a loop that surgery has broken down. don't believe in fat positivity. it will kill you. now I'm 31, and my little daughter is 5 months old. I belive we have beautiful future thanks to my surgeon. ❤

Informative, as a 47 year old woman. I wish I was less scared of HRT. It has in 4 dasys so far- mad me lose weight and body fat. A body weight scale with bone mass indicator was 40$. I have taken in the idea that even if it’s not covered by insurance, doesn’t mean I don’t want to get ahead of it. Easier to support health than heal and repair at older age

There’s no “trying” to lose weight. You either put your mind to it and eat less calories than you burn or you don’t. Exercising, whether it be lifting weights, walking, jogging, gardening etc. will burn more calories making it “easier” or faster to lose weight. The higher the calorie deficit, the more weight you lose. In other words, stop eating so much and you will lose weight.

Ive been walking most days of the week for a while. No change in weight since before starting this routine. It makes me feel better so i continue. Recently added two times a week lifting. Have to be careful so autoimmune doesnt flare. Going well so far. My question is ive been seeing lots more cardio/dance programs coming on the scene and wonder if it would help some shed some fat to add Couple times a week. Also wonder if this falls under the steady state cardio that can raise cortisol? Need something thats low impact, low stress, but obviously need something else to move the needle. No thyroid. Prob perimeno.
@Gromobran
@Gromobran Ай бұрын
Steady state cardio will not raise cortisol as much as you think. That cardio is still the best cardio you can give to yourself, every day. Just stay in zone 2 and you’ll be fine, do it for at least half an hour. Your heart is going to be very grateful. Edit: also this is the best way to shred some fat.

I was diagnosed with arthritis (still’s disease to be more specific) at the age of 26 and during periods of “remission “ or when I wasn’t in too much pain , I tried to go back to running only to develop awful flare ups. Painful hips to where I could barely walk and achy knees . After many failed attempts , I decided to start doing strength training and although I’m not pain feee , I’ve gotten stronger , I look fit and have less pain . I’m currently 44 and although I can’t lift too heavy , I’ve still gained muscle mass and feel better overall, even with arthritis.

4x4 doesn’t add up to enough volume. Targeting 25-30 reps is the window. So with 4 reps you want to do 7 to 8 sets of 4 reps. Look it up.
@rywk4225
@rywk4225 Ай бұрын
perhaps, but 25-30 is way too many often leading to frustration or even boredom😂 in my opinion if you could 15-20 reps its definitely time to increase the weight, 8-15 reps per set is optimal for isolated exercises, 5-8 for compound lifts.. if you’re going 4x4 is almost close to your ORM(one rep max) so stay safe and have a spotter as risk of injuries at this intensity is pretty high

Good for you. Beginners see great results. Going 100% to failure every day is not possible. Look up periodization and progressive resistance. We want something that is sustainable. This is how weightlifters and powerlifters track workouts.

Fantastic interview, thank you both 💛 I'm in Scotland, I've just found you, but have been listening to the marvel that is Dr Louise Newson for a few years now 🤩, and other great menopause educators online. And when I speak to any of the GPs at my health centre, it's them who tell me at every appointment that HRT causes breast cancer. It won't just be me they're telling, it will be all their midlife female patients. That's a lot of people. I am on HRT via the NHS, and I'm so thankful for that 💛, but what a drawn-out, frustrating process to get what we need, and that need can be desperate for many women 😢 As you say, doctors are deskilled and I totally understand that, but what I don't get, is why, several years on from the debunking of the WHI, with great information and resources accessible now, they are not moving on in their thinking? What needs to happen here to ensure doctors are comfortable with hormones and midlife women's health concerns? Thank you again 🤗xx
