And do not be fooled. Studio Cutz were not the original music and sound effects. I was. A Canadian lady (Mary Gawliuk) was the original voice of Britanny the Were-Cheetah, not some Brooklyn sounding hooker. Which I have another issue with. Britanny and Gina were both raised in Georgia according to the comics. They should both have, at the very least, soft Southern drawls. A Japanese lady My Ex-wife, Hiroko Saito, was the voice of the female elf, though you don't hear her in this clip. You were lied to and we were removed in case syndication merited us more money. The voice of Dreadwing the Dragon? Also me. I still have the original cd's. I can convert them and present them to you as proof.

Otaku basically means Hikikomori. Gainax and Anno were all about pointing finger at these people as a way to make them reflect about themselves. I have no idea if it worked beside the obvious vocal minorities who sent death threats.

Hmm, I preferred the novel and the TV series a bit better. The OVA's were more of an experiment to get this thing animated since it was a well received novel series. I wonder what your take of the TV adaptation. It covers a lot more ground than the OVAs which were more fan service and at times took on a more serious tone especially the battle between Yohko and her childhood friend from England, Ayano. In the TV series, it's Yohko and inadvertently recruits the other 3.

At the time this video was posted, it was fairly unknown among a younger fan base in the United States, by this standard at that time, I considered it obscure.

@@TakumaMimura if an anime is unknown in the US it does not mean it is unknown elsewhere. Actually, quite the opposite is true: there is plenty of countries where hundreds of anime series were broadcast nationwide, which were *not* broadcast in the US whatsoever. Italy is the most important country in the West in this respect, followed by France and Spain, and, at a distance, Germany.

Yeah and it's stupid and totally unnecessary. The original was fine other than the goofball characters in the gang and the bimbo. But their characters are flawed as a whole, not just their voices.

Too bad a pure classic like this become so forgotten and obscure, this definitely deserves a remake ASAP!
@Laidengizer0117 ай бұрын
No, not a remake. This was an 80s movie. I want it to stay that way. I just wish they had done more Animes in this beautiful art style back then. It's a one-of-a-kind.
