No the detective Mills won’t get in real trouble for killing Doe, but yes, his life is ruined.

“ seems like envy is my sin” cold calculated, cunning, apathy. Antisocial personality disorder at its finest.

A psychopath acting as a psychopath, an old and wise man acting as an old and wise policeman, and an energetic, explosive and self-centered young man acting as an unconscious and irrational young policeman, it couldn't be better.

Love the ending and every thing a out this phenomenal movie but I always thought a smart thing to do her in a messed up way was to have somerset kill John Doe before he talked about the pregnancy

All three gave us perfect acting. The director, the cinematographer, the editor, & the music director made this scene so powerful! What gift we, as human beings have to be able to do such magical things for our entertainment & comforts. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

remember seeing the movie on german satellite tv pitt whining like a girl for minutes and minutes and did not understand the fuss, it was censored and never revealed what was in the box so my imagination worked and I thought it was the cut out fetus from his wife, maybe with the uterus and the eyes as a bonus or the skin peeled off her face....what a letdown it was only her head...

I like to think that after the events of this film, the city gets over run by more sin due to the events that happened there. Sinners come to the unknown city to participate in one or multiple sins, even using an odd form of witch craft and rituals to get their desired goals. The innocent die and anyone that comes in the city will face the horrors of each seven sins. They even view the Murders as a biblical story of sorts creating a morbid religion around the sins.

For the longest time I thought the worst line in this movie was “John doe has the upper hand now” and questioned telling SWAT to go away. I GET IT NOW THOUGH. I think he tells SWAT to go away so they don’t witness Pitt killing John Doe. And I think he said “has the upper hand now” meant as a way to get them to go away and for Pitt to stand down

Out of all the things John Doe did to his victims, he did something even crueller to Mills: Left him to be haunted by the death and murder of his wife and unborn child for the rest of his life.
