I wish they talked about more songs than just Restless and Sad Songs. In Neon and Burning Buildings are the two hidden gems in that album

such a great little documentary about that one event in his life & Bernies!! His mom bout made me cry during your song 🎵 because if it was you that made your mother proud at that level, i mean, i was imagining that, becoming that succesful in that short period of time is just mind blowing! i never got even close to making my mom proud on that level, only disappointment!! but his music was a roadmap of feelings to embrace throughout it all!! love you Sir Elton ❤️ 😘 💕 )

"The Fox" is a true lost gem; a wonderful album. When it was released, Cashbox called it his best since "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." Billboard praised the album's "lyrical and instrumental majesty" and called it his best set of music in some time. The title track is, in my opinion, one of the best John/Taupin pieces of their entire careers.

READ THIS WHOLE THING: PRAY FOR ISRAEL. PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD. WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE YOUR PLACE IN HIS HOUSEHOLD? THEN PLEASE REPENT OF ALL YOUR SINS TODAY AND SURRENDER YOUR ENTIRE LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. NOBODY IS OUT OF THE CANDIDACY FOR BECOMING A CHRISTIAN.

stop preaching a false lordship salvation. Salvation is by grace though faith without works of any kind. If you could "surrender" your entire life to the lord, then you wouldn't need a savior at all because then you could just save yourself through your own efforts. That is false.

Completely taken back to the pre-flash Elton, amazed he was so influenced by Leon Russell (and yet not, if you listen to them play). Session, the Ladies, Booker-T,a beautiful & mutual gift to us and between two of the greatest piano players in Rock & Roll. Everlasting Leon Love. ❤

Elton's great at what he does but he doesn't have an ounce of Black in him compared to Leon. Hell I was the only White keyboard player in every Black Baptist Church in NE FLORIDA and I was a Celebrity. The White Gospel Ray Charles.

I guess Elton wasn’t jamming with black Americans like Leon did through his life. Edit: but I get what you mean 🎼🤘🏻

I think Elton can throw down some decent enough rhythmic, gospel tinged stuff … but I’d agree a lot of his playing stems from the Nicky Hopkins school of very English 60s Baroque pop. He’s blacker than Billy Joel; Billy’s amazing too but I find his piano playing far more precise and measured. Elton has chord progressions that he riffs and comps thru, never playing the same thing twice. Billy’s stuff is very much planned out.

Leon Russel is an absolute genius, ive loved his playing and writing since way back, from listening to early 70s stuff and Concert for Bangladesh, he was the best period.

I love the Holiday Inn mandolin, and on the album that weave of piano and mandolin was one of Davie's and Elton's first beauties.
