I have just retired from a busy busy job and I have time on my hands for the first time since I left school. I have recently discovered that I like cooking, much to my wife's amusement, I'm not very good but so glad that I found your channel. So far my corn beef hash has turned out ok. I'm scrolling through your videos to see what I can make. Thank you.

the pastas always hard when i do it?
@sheilaskitchen17 күн бұрын
Is your oven up to temperature before you put it in? If so just leave it in the oven for a little longer for the first bit of cooking before you put the cheese on. Hope this helps.

I have always had this issue too. Going to try it with fresh pasta which cooks quicker. There's also the option of part boiling the pasta beforehand and then adjusting to slightly less water when then putting it in the oven. Could try a bigger dish and/or adding more water if the pasta isn't completely submerged in the water and sauce, either before putting it in the oven, or keeping an eye on it during cooking the first time trying and adding some more water then. Then next time hopefully can just use the total volume of water including the extra amount at the start. It just annoying we're stuck having to faff about to get it right though.

dunno what happened to mine ,but it ended up like a bowl of milk with cooked rice floating around
@sheilaskitchen25 күн бұрын
It could of been a number of things: did you use pudding rice, leave it for ten mins more cooking to thicken up, was the oven up to temperature when you put the pudding in, did you use the correct amount of rice, did you use the correct amount of milk. Sorry it did not work out.

It would have been so nice if you put a spoonful in the bowl. It would really show how creamy it is and the consistency. It's also a nice way to end a cooking video by platting the recipe.

I agree but this was one of my first videos. You are not the first person to say this 😊 I am thinking of redoing this rice pudding video for a few reasons but mostly because the quality is not good. My first few videos were filmed on an old phone, I have upgraded since.
@irislorikeet4287Ай бұрын
@sheilaskitchen Actually you're video is fine. I think everything showed well. Don't envest in a new phone yet. You have a soft manner and are precise when talking. Just remember, keep the videos short and don't ramble on ( not that you did ) people look at how long the video is before opening. Anything longer than 6 or 7 minutes they'll pass. You can get a lot done in 7 minutes with proper editing.

My last girlfriend bought me some American & Irish Rice pudding when she used to like me, but she found a richer dude, so she's gone now.... I would like to have a new girlfriend to either make or buy me some rice pudding, and if I'm lucky enough to find a lady that actually loves me, I will ask her to fix up some Britain Rice Pudding because I never tried it.

Hi! I am so glad I found your channel. I grew up in Western New York across the river from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, CA. I had one foot in Canada and one in the U.S. all the time, it seems! My British childhood friend and I would sail across the short distance to the town where we would purchase these tarts and sit in the square to eat them. The bakery would use some almond flour and cover the tarts with a very thin coating of icing glaze rather than icing sugar. It was divine to my 9-year-old-taste buds! I think there must a high number of variations to this recipe, all loved by many. We would purchase an equal number of Canadian Butter Tarts. Your video brought back such wonderful memories! Thank you!

The skins are the most nutritious part of a potato. Fair enough if you don't like the skins but they are blended in the soup so you neither taste them or have the consistency of them 🥦
