I’m in the US, and had a hard time getting my daughter scheduled for a psat test. Usually I can just schedule myself (for the ACT), but this I had to go through a school. We just got up really early & drove an hour- no hotel. We sometimes do that for soccer as well. Sometimes it’s just easier to get up at 5am & have muffins in the car and the kids sleep a little on the way there than messing with a hotel. Good job, Mum!

Assuming your youngest was under three when she was adopted it's very unlikely she'll have any cerebral memory of the contact sessions with her birth parent(s), I say 'very unlikely' because unless she has Hyperthymesia* she likely has Infantile amnesia. Infantile amnesia is the inability to remember anything that happened to you before the age of 3 years old, now I'm not saying that her body doesn't remember the contact with that of her birth mother (you yourself mentioned her in utero trauma) because muscle memory. However I doubt she remembers much (if anything) of her baby and toddler hood. *= Some people with Hyperthymesia can actually remember being born
@Homeschooling_mum3 күн бұрын
Do you think your body can subconsciously remember things from before 3yrs old? I don't know much about the science of it all.

Good to see some one cook from scratch. Almost 7 years for me not eating processed food, it really does make a difference. I eat lower carb/very low carb so that limits my choices a bit but I am happy as my body does not do well eating carbs.
@Homeschooling_mum16 күн бұрын
I feel so much better already. I've been eating pizza and bread but when it's homemade it doesn't make me feel tired etc like the store bought stuff does. Bet you feel amazing after 7years without processed food.

I found it!! Marinade the chicken in 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2tsp oil, 1/2tsp salt. For the sauce: 2tbsp oil, 2 tsp giner, 1 onion, 200g tinned tomatoes (blended), 1tsp turmeric, 1tsp garam masala, 1/4tsp chilli powder, 75g ground almonds or dessicated coconut, 300ml milk, 1/2tsp pepper, 1tsp tomato puree. 1. Heat oil in a pan. Cook onion, garlic and ginger for 5 mins. 2. Add the tomatoes and puree. Cook for 2 mins. 3. Add turmeric, garam masala, chilli, pepper and salt. 4. Add almonds/coconut and milk. Heat through and serve.

My mum up until now hasn't had anything else. But after that night she was exhausted for 3 days. Hopefully it's just a strange virus xx merry Christmas

Did homeschooling ever come up during the process? I wondered if that would put authorities off approving someone as I have always wanted to adopt but also want to homeschool. I would be ok to send an adopted child to school if that’s what they needed but the social workers would be aware that my current children don’t go to school
@Homeschooling_mum2 ай бұрын
We weren't homeschooling at the time so it just never came up. I'd hope that if someone can provide a stable and loving home for a child then homeschooling wouldn't be a problem, but u never know with local authorities. X

I am not a Christian but I do believe in malevolent spirits. Why mess with them? When in doubt, leave it out. I respect your views. Presumably, you live in Britain where Halloween is not a big thing. I'm so glad I live in Australia where it is not very popular either
@Homeschooling_mum3 ай бұрын
Totally agree with you. As you say, it's not just Christians who believe spirits are real and definitely not to be messed with. Yeh i'm in the UK and Halloween isn't that big here.

Your fixation with beige coloured items is a good clue to your one-dimensional point of view about Halloween and your adherence to a historical mishmash of stories that belong in the fiction section. On the plus side you seem nice and are a solid 8/10 in the looks department.
